 Re: Election discussion thread.
Man, FOX is getting desperate. They had that I FART A LOT, Ann Coulter on yesterday talking about how Obama is a dirtbag for having dinner with Khalid Rashidi, yet McCain's group giving half a mil is cool since the money was supposed to be used to help run Palestinian elections. She was talking in circles and made no sense. It's awesome. I also love how they are blaming the media for the disparity in poll projections, since McCain didn't get a fair shake, and all. Delusional.

Re: McCain picks Palin (and other election discussion)
The fatal flaw, of course, is that there is no evidence he WOULD choose "far left ACLU-oriented" judges. Everyone thought he would use the Harvard Law Review to advance an African-American "cause" and it just never materialized. Obama is simply NOT a polarizing figure (though some sure try hard to paint him that way...unsuccessfully).

 Re: Election discussion thread.
Wow...I missed that one. I actually enjoyed seeing Shepard Smith on Fox News taking "Joe the Plumber" to task when the knucklehead got caught on camera agreeing with a "journalist" who stated that a vote for Obama means "Death to Israel".

I didn't go through 21 pages to see if this had already been posted: If hadn't already voted for the man, the audio on this page would have been the clincher: http://gawker.com/5072722/barack-obama-cockblocker

 Re: Election discussion thread.
Anybody have a copy of his birth certificate? There is a rumor going around he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii.
Just curious if this was a bogus rumor.

I am looking forward to Nov. 4th. Have to get some sleep though. Suppose to head out to NC to volunteer. Went last weekend, and it was a lot of fun.

 Re: Election discussion thread.
Hey guys, do your american birth certificate really look like that ? With the mother & th father "race" on it ? Skin color is not race. It's climatic adaptation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_genetics

 Re: Election discussion thread.
I've got a Hawaii birth cert circa 1973 and it's got parent's race on there. It also has way more info on it than the one above, too.

It's interesting that the father's race is listed as "African."

 Re: Election discussion thread.
Well, first of all, even though race is a social construct, I don't think anyone ever considered "African" to be a race. It's not even a nationality. Secondly, even though I wasn't around then, in the early 1960s I would have expected a word like "Negro" to be used instead.
However, I realize that the information on these birth certificates is the result of an actual human being typing and not a pre-defined check box on a computer screen, the way it's probably done nowadays.

 Re: Election discussion thread.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/deadlin ... johnmccainPalin caught out by a prank caller from a Canadian radio station- absolutly painful to listen to! I really do feel sorry for her, but then it passes and I think she gets what she deserves for being so stupid. What do people think? it is a bit of a low blow- but I guess it makes up for people being so easy on her in the debates and letting people go believing she really isnt that stupid- LOL- "I love zee documentary zey made of your life: Nalin' Palin." And she still didnt get it....
