Post Re: Google Chrome
I assume they hope this will encourage people to use google docs. We switched S7 over to google docs and gmail a few months and it has been great so far. The spreadsheet isn't so great at complicated task but for 90% of the things we need to do it works just fine. Cloud computing is very nice once you get used to it.

I wish they would release a version for Mac ,at least they finally released a google desktop for Mac so I don't have to use Apples crappy search tool anymore.

It's funny you point that out Joe, I keep thinking it's a pokeball haha.

It is somewhat faster but it's still rather buggy. I noticed a few cracks already with lag while closing tabs and dragging an html file to the browser doesn't load at all. Also noticed some links don't work here and there. It's on the right path but I'll have to switch back to firefox until the kinks are worked out.

I love the google docs too but yea sometimes the functions don't work at all. I tried a simple summation formula and it came up with some incorrect totals.

I felt the same way. However, now I'm making a note to check out assholefever.com.

Google is one of those companies that can do no wrong in the eyes of a lot of people. And for good reason: Its track record has been pretty spotless so far, and almost everyone who has used an Internet connection can say that Google has made their lives much easier. But could Google finally have a blemish with the recent release of its Web browser Google Chrome?

Web entrepreneur John Crickett found a little tidbit in the fine print of Google Chrome's licensing agreement that might make it a particularly unattractive option for business people:

...the EULA grants Google:

'a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive licence to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content that you submit, post or display on or through'

The problems should be clear. If you're uploading material for your website that you'd like to use commercially, like logos, you don't want to give Google a right to do whatever it will with that content.

To anyone who has tried out Chrome: Does this licensing agreement outweigh the benefits of using the supposedly faster, better designed browser?

Yeah, I couldn't see them sticking by that for too long. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

New version out today. Trying it out, so far, so good. Annoyance with the scroll wheel on the mouse, though.

I use it once in a while...for work and sometimes at home. Meh...nothing too great. I use about 3-4 browsers at work so I'm kinda numb to some differences.

Just updated Chrome and surfed over to YJA. A bar appears at the top of the page: "This page is in Japanese, would you like to translate it?" Nice!

Switched to Chrome because of its much smaller resource demands compared to Firefox. Like it so far, especially the Translate extension.

Has anyone encountered problems swiping text in forum post windows? Chrome seems to grab either too much or too little, depending on where the cursor falls. It's really odd.
