Dempagon gets huge points for originality/artistry in my book. I like that he looks like a mistake, or like he sat too long on the radiator. The "nostalgia factor" is almost nothing for me & these toys, so I'm much more interested in originality than licensed characters or facsimiles/tributes. (Pollution Bemon is somehow the exception to the rule. The new Bemon looks awesome but because he looks straight out of the film, I lose a lot of interest.)

Why is Hone Borg scoring so low? RxH fans not reading this forum? He is awesome. The oni-mask face is a big part of the appeal for me...I love seeing aspects of traditional art blended in.

I think shikaruna needs more representation he had so many toys come out this year and i would definitly vote for chios if he were up and the maxtoy tripasu is really beautiful too.....speaking of maxtoy....is this just general types and not specific colorways? casue there were quite a few unreal eyezons this year.

I think the poll has to do with new sculpts that were released in '08.

Mine went to Ojo and Dorol...I want to cast for Bemon, but the shear rarity makes a "best of" vote impossible*.

(*One of my fave record Stores, Aquarius Records of San Fran, does a bi-weekly newsletter on the weekly music releases and have a Record Of the Week. Some of the best stuff they refuse to make ROTW because it is either limited, only on cassette or LP, etc., making it virtually impossible for more than a handful of people able to enjoy the "best". I use the same criteria for my voting here.)

Zudon didn't make it on the list i would have to agree with PK ,i think Zudon's pretty neat

Even though it seems it didn't receive an official release in '08 (and still hasn't) I'd say that Maza/Disc Monster/Flying Saucer Kaiju is the best new sculpt of '08! Especially after seeing some of the photos that just cropped up!
