You don't have to tell me... I have yet to hang on to my small allotment I get every release-- I always have to sell them off right away and keep one for myself. It's not that I want to flip my own figs, I don't do that-- it's just that it would be nice to sit on a couple for hard times in the future or just to have on hand for gifts.

 Re: blue ojo rojo
Yes, the costs to get teh paint masks were astronomical on ojo, and alsoquite expensive for ojo too. When I originally showed globby to gargamel a few years ago they said no way, becasue it would be too hard to paint the stripes on the sweater/shirt. But then they went ahead and did it paint masks and all. So even the blanks are now more Money just to help make up and offset the costs of the paintmasks for ojo and to some extent globby. and yeah, some new suprises soon for a few of us. bwana. Gaira-like wrote: uberboy wrote: the globby's and ojo's cost more because of character licenses between gargamel and bwana/martin. simple. Actually, that's not the case from what I've heard-- they're priced the way they are because of the production costs that went into getting Ojo out there, in particular, the paint masks. The mold of any toy being expensive, try throwing those specially made masks on top of that, plus who knows how much it is to produce a new run, and the run itself (as with most of their other output) being low in number to begin with, and there you have it. I don't have any official contract with Gargamel for exclusivity of character use for Ojo, but it is understood that he is mine and I simply choose not to have anyone else make toys of him but for Gargamel, pretty much because (duh) they fucking rock and they've come to be good friends of mine. I'll go so far as to say I don't plan on ever letting anyone else produce an Ojo toy. That's about as much as I know-- Bwana could probably enlighten you more about it.

My Pink Ojo went to Lorne, I'm sure, I think I helped you on the GID. Looks like it has much better company though, WOW!

Definitely an amazing shelf. Each one of those Ojos is eye candy. Love the customs also.

 Re: blue ojo rojo
The blue looks really striking in person, photos don't do this version justice at all.

 Re: blue ojo rojo
only have one ojo. The pink and black one. Would totally be satisfied with just having the blue one as well but that fulfilled feeling would probably be fleeting.

This is something about the toy making process that I think people aren't aware of. The pre-production costs of a toy can be quite substantial before any vinyl even starts to get poured. Kudos to Martin/Bwana and Gargamel for never cutting any corners and always making QUALITY product!

Where can I read about the toy making process? I know some, but want to know more. Curious what the pre-production costs were for the Ojo.
