Not sure if I like these guys very much.
It reminds me of some sort of Rockman (Mega Man, *ahem*), or somesuch other video game character design. I'd like to see one in person to get a better idea of what they're all about.

I didn't need to know there were toys called Steel Fairies.

The two in the front row on the far left and far right remind me (just!) of the artwork in Kaiba

Re: Kaijin Fulcraim collection - Does anyone else collect?
I don't know what they are supposed to be, what the sculpt is going for, why it comes apart at the waist, why even a little kid would want one, and they are in solid vinyl, not a detailed sculpt and none have cool paint. they are not some icon transitioned to a toy as far as I know, where is the appeal to these?

I am a Kaijin fan and I also like the fulcraims.
No figure in the world has an universal appeal which everyone likes. Some will like it and some simply don't connect. Know your own likes and interests. Don't collect because majority think its cool or uncool.

I think the zinc don't wanna hear it stink. It's what he loves so put on the kid gloves It's more than enuff cause it's his stuff.
And the photos were really nicely done.

Re: Kaijin Fulcraim collection - Does anyone else collect?
Thanks for the Saturday morning laughs. That was great. Between HMS's "it sucks" comments and poysntixels poetry, this made my morning a bit more interesting. For everyone that does like the Kaijin Fulcraims, awesome. I really dig this fig and have a lot of fun with them and was curious to know if anyone else collected. For all the people that don't like them, it's all good. Like I said to each their own. There's some things on here that I personally don't like. Like maxaltoman said, "No figure in the world has an universal appeal which everyone likes."

Is Kaijin the name of the company that makes these? I don't see what's "kaijin" about the figure...kinda like "Old Skool Kaiju" if you ask me.

Re: Kaijin Fulcraim collection - Does anyone else collect?
I appreciate these pics because I never really got this sculpt, and while I still don't, I have a little more insight. I like the foxlike head, but it is pointed upward in an awkward way and there are too many design elements going on elsewhere for me. I especially don't like the Toumaish knuckles. I think Kaijins work is just too over designed and inorganic for me. I am impressed with the apparent ambition of the sculpt though, it looks like there are a lot of parts in there that clearly had to be immaculately produced to work and fit the way they do.
Does Fulcraim have a background or some sort of story, or does it only exist as this toy?
Thanks especially for the glowie shot, that one is the neatest with the combo of clear parts. The pink/silver is nice too.

Re: Kaijin Fulcraim collection - Does anyone else collect?
I've said it before and I'll say it here as well: I don't like the design on these personally. Way too clean and smooth for me. However, I really appreciate the craftsmanship that went into them from a sculpting and mold-making standpoint. Don't really dig the paint jobs so much, either... but I think that's also on the personal aesthetics side.

Re: Kaijin Fulcraim collection - Does anyone else collect?
nice Fulcraim collections! I was strangely drawn to this new toy by Kaijin, called the Musyubei (I think). Same complaint as for Fulcraim could apply - maybe too clean, almost Pete Foweleresque. I do like the shading on this one.

For production pieces, there are only 3 versions so far. - Grey unpainted proto - Grey painted as picture above - blue unpainted for the Fewmany show that just concluded Kaijin-san also painted up some custom musyubels for the Fewmany show. Some of the colours were really beautiful. An exciting talent.

I definitely like the Musyubel. Kind of has a Where the Wild Things Are look to it. I got this one called Steiny a while back. It's made in China and the quality is kind of bad but I like the character.
