Post For the Resin Heads...Cameron Tiede's Melvin
I've been a fan of Cameron's for several years and picked up one of his early custom toys at SDCC 2005. I've tried to score the earlier Melvin releases with no luck, to date there had only been 6 or 7 released in total. This batch was 20. Each one included a print that inspired the colorway and one random buyer would receive the original painting.

To my great surprise, this showed up yesterday.

He is bulky and heavy! There is some wire in the legs/feet joint that allows him to be balanced properly. The arms are also able to flip around.

Anyone else on the board get one?

awesome get!! glad to see the painting went to a true collector, instead of some flipper twang.

Not my thing at all, but looks really well done for the medium. And nice score getting the painting. Funny you still got a print too.

Cameron is a dude? I always though he was a girl based on the paintings I've seen.

I know he used to work in animation for Nickelodeon, but I'm not sure how far back that was. Glad to see some of the others on here got one too. It's such a heavy piece. The only piece I could compare it to in terms of heaviness is the Axeface from the Monstrehero guys.

It was kind of funny getting the print and the painting. I figure one of my daughters will like it, probably the rowdy 18 month old. She's all about destruction lately.
