just caught first glimpse of the finished new zollmen/exohead sculpt...not sure if i like the outcome,,the body & arms seem awkward maybe with some paint,,it will come together more...

 Re: new zollmen sculpt
Yea, the arms are a bit low. Would love to see more detailed pics with paint, but right now, meh.

 Re: new zollmen sculpt
Wonder if there is some story behind the sculpt that explains the "arms growing out of the hips".

 Re: new zollmen sculpt
Interesting sculpt. The shape reminds of anraku punch. Hand a bit lacking.
More pics out of the bag please.

 Re: new zollmen sculpt
The picture Joe posted makes it look more enticing. I like the UFO monster idea. With some paint this thing might turn out to be even more attractive. Just a thought about the bizarre arms placement ... aren't monsters and aliens supposed to look monstrous or alien?

 Re: new zollmen sculpt
the picture joe posted was from the exohead blog months ago,,when it was still being designed...
maybe it is the angle,,but the arms look a bit more proportionate in that shot...
like i said before,,the outcome is awkward looking so far....

Gotcha, thanks. Well, looking forward to seeing more detail and what paint does for it.

 Re: new zollmen sculpt
Yeah, I was really excited about this when I saw the teaser pic on the exoblog. But seeing the full figure I don't like it so much. The proportions look terrible. The sculpting looks so amazing in the teaser shot though! Wish the torso/legs were different and that the arms were mounted higher on the torso. I was hoping this would be my new favorite...

 Re: new zollmen sculpt
"Enban Kaiju"? The arms are vaguely Bemonish.

 Re: new zollmen sculpt
So hard to judge this toy... The arms do look awkward and the head looks to be scaled down compared to the earlier proto. I really dig the 'Ufo' kaiju concept so i'm expecting some heat from future painted versions.

mmmm, I think a little paint will make it come to life......then again I may be wrong.

Re: new zollmen sculpt - Flying Saucer Kaiju
Hmm. The photo and the finale sculpt look way different to me. The mouth looks like it changed it bit. I'd like to see it painted or up close if possible.

Re: new zollmen sculpt - Flying Saucer Kaiju
i'll have to be the odd one out here and say that I actually like the arm placement. gives the toy a more primitive appearance that I think lends itself well to the overall fig.

Re: new zollmen sculpt - Flying Saucer Kaiju
been staring at this, trying to like it. the lowered arms would work more if the arms were flinging across a bit closer to its body, i think. the way the arms are spread so much out, it bothers me

Re: new zollmen sculpt - Flying Saucer Kaiju
Yeah, hard to say what this guy will look like in person. The teaser picture is ridiculously cool, but the unpainted one in the bag looks a little bit less promising. Only one way to find out, though

Re: new zollmen sculpt - Flying Saucer Kaiju
I can see the potential. IMO its got to be std 9" size. Anything smaller may not work. My 2 cents worth.

Re: new zollmen sculpt - Flying Saucer Kaiju
I was hoping for tripod legs. But I'm visualizing the arms reposed and I like it.
I think the paint apps will be nice!

Re: new zollmen sculpt - Flying Saucer Kaiju
Face kinda looks like the Marigon mini from Zollmen. I like that they made the fig half organic half robotic. Unpainted doesn't really do much for me but I'm sure my opinion would change greatly given the right paint application.

The sculpt looks like it will take paint really well.
I'll get one if I get the chance!

now that you put the idea out there paul,,i can see a bit past the finished proto picture.. the constraints of the bag are obvious,,it looks as though the arms are in an odd position (possibly the only way they can fit in the bag).. the arms do look like they are meant hang forward,,kinda like elephant trunks....visualizing that,,it seems to work better.. then all it may need is a killer paint application...

Love it.
It kind of reminds me of Target Earth's stuff.
