 Agama Rangeas in love...
The inspiration... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agama_(lizard). . . . The photos don't do justice on this one, the colors are really vibrant and the green on the arms and legs is much more pronounced. what do you think sirs? Phil

 Re: Agama Rangeas in love...
I really like the colors schemes on the far left and right.
But think the middle is good but could be better with just a little bit more. (Maybe it's because now I know what it's referencing.) ...I think that if you set it aslide for a little bit and go back to it...you can make it pop more. The lizard's back is awesome..It would cool to see some of that in the rangeas..and I think you could knock it out of the park.
Either way..nice job.

 Re: Agama Rangeas in love...
Agama Rangeas needs more of a fade from the orange head to the blue body. It looks like the head is just plopped onto the body and is a bit too disjointed, especially since the colors are opposing colors. So...you either run some orange into the body or blue into the head.

I agree they need more of a "fade" though. But overall, I love this rangeas as I do most all of your work.

 Re: Agama Rangeas in love...
Agree with the others about the blue-to-orange fade (and also with what bryce said about a little bit more detailing on the back)... but INCREDIBLE execution nonetheless.

 Re: Agama Rangeas in love...
Hey thanks everybody- I appreciate all the input as always! I want to respond to some of the thoughts specifically. bryce_r wrote: I really like the colors schemes on the far left and right.

Either way..nice job. hey bryce, glad you like them all. =) I've come back to it after a few days, to see it with new eyes, and I'm still in the same mind as when I finished it. I know what you're saying about the back of the actual lizard. and I tried to express that in the alternating colors going down the sides of his back (as well as representing the striped tail) and the spines on the back of the rangeas. I think, more then anything it might be an issue with the snapshots I took of it not fully showing it off. The main body is one shade of blue, turning into green at the legs and hands, the large scales on the flanks of the body are a deeper blue, almost violet, and the blue in the spines and scales on its back are another much lighter blue highlighted with white. Holding it in person and comparing to those pictures I think I need to go back and re-shoot it. gatchabert wrote: Agama Rangeas needs more of a fade from the orange head to the blue body. So...you either run some orange into the body or blue into the head. Hey Bert, I did fade the orange and blue a little bit on the undersides of the last part of it "beard", and while the second picture of the lizard shows a gradual transitioin from blue to orange, other reference pics I went from showed a more abrupt change like in the first image, and I preferred that look more honestly. There were some that had strange white block patterns and fades from blue to red to pink. Some went from orange to green to brown. I wish I had another dozen of these guys and I'd to a whole series of Rangeas based on the awesome colors of these guys. Anyone know how I can get in touch with T9G? Maybe I'll pitch the idea to them. =) phil
