I heard about this over a month ago, I find it kind of odd that they would go for such drastic changes to the character when comic sales are still quite strong.

I buy trades 6 months after they hit for half off cause I'm a cheap-o so I miss a lot. I hope he dies. I love Batman, but only really care about mini-series now, the "real" DC universe and Marvel universe both lost my interest a long time ago.

No way Bruce Wayne's death sticks. Nobody stays dead in comics, unless they are a jobber. They brought back Aunt May for christ's sake! Just a publicity stunt.

Not sure, but i bet it's only a matter of time. BTW, Thor and Immortal Iron Fist are two pretty good books right now.

bruce wayne isn't dying..."BATMAN" as we know it is apparently. So they're alluding to another person (RObin/Nightwing/Hush) taking over the costume...early next year there is another series coming around called like "duel for the cowl" or something like that...additionally Robin/Nightwing and a few of the ancillary Batman titles are being canceled...most likely due to all of the flux that the Batman comic is about to undergo.


Of course Bruce Wayne will be back in the suit eventually. It's another comic book gimmick for sure...but RIP has actually been a great read!

I remember reading that by the time of the big Doomsday event in the 90s, Superman had already been killed off 25 times.

i dont follow dc much, but that is just ridicurous

DC & Marvel do this kind of thing every 5-7 years or so. Death of Superman caused quite a boost in sales. Why not nail Batman next. If it was a good compelling storyline I'd be pretty impressed, but I doubt it. I'll keep my eye open for the comics though.

I just read it and Im still not sure what happens?!

No resolution..no big finale.. I thought it was weak. I liked it better when their was speculation that it was Alfred behind the whole thing..(trying to get batman to retire or take a break)

But this? Lame.

i read it today, and had no idea what happened either. didn't read any of the other RIP line though. the tpb comes out in feb so i may revisit, but it was pretty lame.
