 Dinosaurs are for making oil
So I was looking around a some classic kaiju sites and realized that a really large proportion of it is essentially dinosaur based. Godzilla and so on right? but all of the coolest ones are as far away from dinosaurs as you can get. Giant pollution puddle, space squid, that Barom-1 hand villain from the last S7. I know that Godzilla et al have special places in peoples hearts and all, but they just don't seem to compare well to the weirder stuff. So...discuss and stuff, if you want - I mostly just wanted to get above 125 posts tonight.

Well you seem to be at 130 posts already! All I can say regarding Godzilla not comparing well to puddles of pollution is that you evidently haven't seen the movies

Yeah, I actually always like Godzilla the most in the movies. But toys are a different matter for me, I like the smog monster toys more than the Godzilla toys generally.

The weirder, more unique stuff always has great long-term appeal. I can live without another dinosaur sometimes, but a weird lightning-bolt coccoon monster or whatever is always worth checking out.

I love me some Godzilla but if Bemon were to end up in a Toho movie he would squash the big lizard like a small kitten.

Yes, I love squid-alien jellyfish-o-puss and frankenstein junk-bots and ape-fish creature types of melted poop brain monstas.
But we do need big lizards and space men to keep them in check.
