 Re: Gargamel Rokuron
PK had a figure of the original Cumberlain. Future_Man wrote: Ojo Rojo Killer (Whalegator) Not 100% Gargamel though for either of them. Theres an illustration in the Pencil Fight magazine from a while back. Again, not 100% Gargamel. I'm not picking a fight about it, I just find it strange that they've not come up with an original character. Unless that is their deal.

Kinda of has a charm to it, they don't so much seem to want to create new stuff as much as play on past designs that were under rated and glorify them. Gargamel's like the worlds greatest cover band of toys.

 Re: Gargamel Rokuron
I don't really care if it's based on something else or not, Rokuron looks really promising from sculpt to paint. Kind of wish there was a bit more articulation, but it looks like that would be troublesome at the neck. With the right color scheme, this is a WANT. I like gargamel toys but I think that's a valid question. I've sometimes wondered why they aren't interested in producing or trying their hands at more original undefined sculpts.
They have such a good system already but it'd be kind of cool to see a 100% brand new original figure.

M1 only does repros/existing characters and so do a lot of companies. I like what they do, and wouldn't reject new ideas, but I don't respect them any less or feel the want for something original. There's so many untapped existing ideas that can be Gargameled up and represented that it seems useless and almost vain to just go ahead and do something original JUST for the sake of it. This is a good discussion, though. Good to see what others feel on it.

I agree..don't fix was it not broken but it'd be nice to hear from the gargamel guys. Maybe they aren't interested? Maybe they've tried but the result didn't look up to par. etc.

Looks good, but I'm not crazy about this colourway. Would like to see something more colourful. For some reason this reminds me somewhat of the Bat villain toy from Kamen Riders.

Well Koji did the Tokoji Seijin and I thought Chanmen designed the Eaton. I think they're both considered part of Gargamel.

Yeah but those are more part of the artist series I think along with Ojo and Globby. Though both dudes are part of Gargamel, I think these are presented as solo works showing them both off as individual artists, hence the higher prices like the others in the series.

 Re: Gargamel Rokuron
Eaton was designed by Kiyoka, I believe.
I didn't lump the artist collaborations with the original Gargamel toys, since they represent a joint effort.
So were the fight figures based on actual toys, or just derived from the likenesses of Ultra kaiju?

 Re: Gargamel Rokuron
Hey, anyone know of any good books on Japanese mythology. Now see this Tokoji reference, I would like to learn some more on Eastern mythological characters. Going through primary school in the West, the concentration is on Roman and Greek myth.
