 Medicom
Metallica Jump in the Fire figure: Japanese-based Medicom Toys is one of the largest toy manufacturers in the world. As Kirk Hammett said "It's important to use a company like Medicom who knows toys, quality toys, inside and out." They bring to life many of our action heroes from Batman, Spiderman, Star Wars, Disney, and so many more in 12 inch form. It is only fitting that Medicom brings to life one of our heroes and a legend in the Metal archives, the Jump in the Fire creature! This high quality soft vinyl character stands about 12 inches tall with and comes in complete window packaging. The piece is limited to 1,000 pieces in production and is also an online exclusive, available to MetClub members first! Grab the toy Kirk calls "The most kick ass toy we have made."

 Re: Medicom
Didn't know about this thanks! I like it...I'm not much into Metallica anymore, but the old stuff kicks ass...as does this figure!

 Re: Medicom
medicom WAS the place to go to for great figures / designs but I think Jin and Co. have been floundering for years. Hot Toys is the company that needs to be watched - as of late their Dark Knight / Hellboy / Iron Man figures have been mind-blowing and some of the best releases I've seen for years. The Metallica figure, though, is pretty cool. Too bad it doesn't spit fire

 Re: Medicom
CCPfan, I tend to agree about Medicom sorta falling off. I've been curious as hell about Hot Toys because of their insane 12" figs. Do you have any? Hell, are they even out? I've been considering picking up an Iron Man MkIII and maybe a Dark Knight Batman...but I'm curious about their quality.

 Re: Medicom
are there any more pics online? it looks un-articulated at the shoulders & hips.. read it was to be posable, good likeness tho. i had an uncut picture disc of 'JITF' back in the eighties if anyone remembers picture discs. most looked cool but sounded crappy.

 Re: Medicom
The new RAH Alien looks shockingly boring from what I've seen (display models in shops). The Neca ones from earlier this year looked way better at less than half the price (and for an 18" figure!) and if you want to go the other route the huge Marmit ones totally slay. I just wonder who is going to pay upwards of $150 or so for that when there are so many other great figures of the same design for way less money? I don't think Hot Toys has done a Big Chap, but their Predalien was TIGHT. Almost considered buying that, but I have neither the shelf space nor the $250.
The Metallica figure looks like it could be cool, though.

 Re: Medicom
Have to agree with folks above... despite their recent retardo coarse, this 'jump in the fire' figure looks rather dope. We need pictures of this demon out of the box.

 Re: Medicom
I'll always like Medicom's stuff. RAH, Kubricks/Bearbricks, VCD's. This is pretty neat, I just don't think I can drop the money on it. I want to see more pics first. I'm glad it's based on something like this vs. a VCD of the little skull and crossbones/middle finger sketch guy or some crap.
Hot Toy's 1/6th have taken over, if I was still into those types of things I'd be all over them, but I just can't collect them. Plus they have no Star Wars rights.

 Re: JUMP...............into the fire
thats pretty cool looking.. do its arms move or is that just a seam in the sculpt? always figured the original painting musta been influenced by the 'beast' from Curse of the Demon / Night of the Demon which is one of my favorite horror movies.

 Re: JUMP...............into the fire
No articulation at all, figure is heavy as hell, solid all the way through, sorta weighs like a Stretch Armstrong did, but no stretch.

 Re: JUMP...............into the fire
this takes me back to when Metallica was actually good and my favorite band so I'm kind of liking it though judging by the pics it looks better in the box rather than out...

 Re: JUMP...............into the fire
I forgive Metallica for many indiscretions, including most 1990's recorded material, but charging 100 bucks for this guy is really pushing it, even for Lars. They could have done a resin or plastic version for less money that would have been easily as interesting, considering there is no articulation, detail, or paint to speak of...
I don't want to roll back time, but I do miss the reckless abandon of "Alchollica" and the music it brought us...
