 Tourist Toy Toy companies.
Have you found any Tourist in the new crop of neo Kaiju companies currently fabricating vinyl dreams? Consider this example. And exercise if you will to prove the validity of this question; TWIM is a resident in the scene. Sparky is in totality a Tourist. A Stranger in a Strange land if you will. Any other examples out there?

Control ALT DELETE...IS this topic TABOO ? I will not seek this line of enquiry and will delete if asked. How about this example? [expletive deleted] and Bearbricks? or QUEE and Kubricks ? Is this more akin to the knowledge traded in these halls ? HOW ABOUT TOUMA and BXH ( is this too forced of a stretch ? )

this is the first time i see a small toy company referred as "tourist" company but i think i get your question (after reading your post many times)...
and the answer is yes, many people here have been talking about this small companies and "neo-kaijus" since this forum started.

I have confused the subject with my use of POP cult-ure references.
TOURIST= Poseurs = Want to bes. Refer to a book and picture called "FIGHT CLUB"
A world of answers and questions will you find in this work of entertainment.
Seek it.

no such thing as a poseur toy company. they all actually make toys.
the 'industry' itself is only 8 years old, if you consider the first BHX and Shit Fink /Cocobat stuff came out like 1997-98.
and they where all basing their shit on OG Kaiju and then Henshin Cyborg crap and like, Kellog's Cereal Characters from the 60's- 70's.
Reference to 'posuers' is a sign of posuer-hood in and of itself.
why do you seek some sort of meaning in this?
it is actually just about
THE COOLNESS OF OBJECTS.
no need for deeper justification.

My only worry is that this new wave of japanese kaiju will end up like the Hong Kong toy movement, nowheresville because of all the people that you know will start making junk toys just to capitalise on whats going on. Let all hope this has some staying power and turn into a culture in itself so we can enjoy ourselves for a long time to come.
