then again, she likes all them lifetime movies...

Perhaps when "Kate and Allie go to Wal-Mart" makes it to DVD, the wifey will be more impressed.

All my Sopranos-loving friends are saying Mad Men is really hitting its stride right now and is a must-watch...that'll probably be the next TV show I add after I get through all the Odd Couple discs I just added...so, like, some time in February...

nah man, and that was kind of a disappointment. feldman's part started off all wrong from the get-go. the whole gravel voice thing totally showed bad acting. i always said that, since haim and feldman are 2 of my favorite actors from the 80's/early 90's, that i would love to see them come back, together. they totally lost the ability to act. i still dig "The 2 Coreys" though...

Some great films in these queues. My wife and I have been watching a lot of TV on dvd stuff because a) we don't have cable (or broadcast tv for that matter) and b) a lot of the time it's easier to fit these in our schedule than films. Just got done with the first season of Burn Notice and the whole run of Entourage. That said:
at home: Onibaba
Night Gallery Season 1 Disc 1
Pete Kelly's Blues
in queue: Dexter Season 2
Mad Men Season 1
Hearts of Darkness

Night Gallery!!! great idea, time to do a little netflix shuffle

No Netflix, but can I still play?

Just watched:

Audition (I liked it a lot better after it was over than 5 minutes before it ended)

A.W.K. Who Knows? (still watching right now...pretty much my favorite music DVD)

Otoshimono (pretty good for the first 3/4ths, but the last 15 minutes are unbelievably dumb)

The Simpsons Movie (90 minutes of my life I will never have back again)

Coming up on Tuesday when the rental place has $2 rentals:

A bunch of old Pinky Violence junk that they just got in (if its not all rented)

Godzilla vs. Hedora (after looking at the picture thread up here and realizing its been a long time since I've seen it)

Sakuran and A Butterfly on the Ganges (requests from the W.I.F.E.)

I've been on a movie kick lately...

Been loving the streaming Netflix service thru the XBOX 360! I have over 300 movies in my instant queue!

Just finished the first 2 seasons of 30 Rock and just sent back Happiness.

Good times!

it took me 3 sittings to get through it.
its sort of slow and absurdly confusing (like most miike stuff)

sort of dissapointed.

I heard good things, so I was disappointed too. Kinda disjointed, but not in a good way.

I thought it was great, really turned the Miike weird quotient way up. I love the costumes and colors, and has a cool pay off at the end. But I guess that's just me.

I liked it. It was kinda slow in parts, but had good action scenes and nice effects.
