I'm curious and can't seem to find any info, but was there some kind of event that just passed recently in Nagoya? like this weekend past?

It's called the Nagoya Modern Culture Market. That's where all of the Shikaruna pieces on Charactics came from. Website here, but no info: http://www.vita-web.co.jp/Doesn't seem like a new venue, but some of the sofubi artists have slowly begun selling things there.

It's great to see a fest in the 'Burgh! Hopefully I can join you guys. Family obligations for the Holidays are making my schedule a bit challenging but I'll be kicking myself if I can't attend. I'm really looking forward to meeting you guys!

Re: The Toy Event Listing - Mucha Mucha Festival is coming!
Word of warning - the directions on the map on the Ghetto's home page are wrong. The Ghetto is next to Shin Okubo station NOT Okubo station. My advice is to input the address (in Japanese) into Google Maps. (You should be able to find the address on the Ghetto's homepage.) The map will show the subway station, surrounding AM PMs and other assorted shops, parks, etc. If you still can't find it, show the map to the subway station guard, and they'll be able to sort you out. Have fun - The Ghetto is a pretty trippy place. If Mark's event is held in the same room as the BLobpus Exhibition was, it's pretty tiny. But they still manage to cram a lot of kaiju into the room.

Re: The Toy Event Listing - Mucha Mucha Festival is coming!
I believe the dates of the 2009 Taipei Toy Festival are July 9-12.
It's grown into one of Asia's premier toy shows, so I hope some of ya'll can make it over. In 2008, we had 20-30 toy designers in attendance (Blobpus, VInyl Junkies, TTToys, Tim Biskup, Touma, Itokin Park, Brothersfree, Ledbetter, Hariken, etc.)
There are pics from the previous 2 years on my blog.
If you're planning to make the trip, give me a shout.

Re: The Toy Event Listing - Here comes 2009!
Glad to help.
We should probably make the "master list" open access so people with information about events in Japan, the US, and elsewhere can add to it.
