akum6n wrote: Curious- so what do people think of the recent releases and one-offs from Hobby Complex? It looks like there were Dorols and Chiwos done in clear blue and pink/orange and painted over.
I kind of like them, but they're getting a little gaudy. Also, the Dorol loses some of its sculpt definition with the clear material.
There are so many one-offs being released that I'm having a hard time differentiating the normal versions. I'd prefer to see more paint schemes that don't consist of so many stripes and patches of color. Maybe more simple and subtle color transitions. It's such an amazing sculpt that I want to appreciate the figure itself and not be so distracted by the paint. If you look at a Goga or Gargamel Zagoran paint scheme, there are paint stripes in instances that follow contours and paint applied in a way that accentuates the figure, then unpainted pieces of vinyl to rest the eye which imo makes it more balanced. With all the external heads on his fingers and back he appears to be a soul stealer of some kind so I'd also love to see a clear version of the Dororus with a small figure (victim) inside him. His texture would give it a ghostly effect as well.

His texture would give it a ghostly effect as well. What I'm really waiting for no the Dororu front is a clear vinyl (of any color, really) that has all the skulls unpainted. Full paint job on the body, and details like the teeth and eyes knocked out, but with transparent skulls would rock IMO. I wouldnt mind a transparent yolky spot on the top either, do we know what that thing is officially? On my red Dororu, with its paint ap, it truly does look like a yolk. Also, a rainbow scheme might look good, but they're usually hit or miss. I'm much more of a fan of the clear vinyl toys that are dyed in a rainbow colorway, than I usually am of a rainbow paint job. Thanks for the compliments guys, I can't wait to get some real (aka non-camera-phone pics) shots of Walter when I get home tomorrow I already couldn't my few SK's together on the same shelf, but I really don't mind that problem worsening

Well there are a number of HP and some are a lot subtler. Kokoro uses metallic sea green to bring out the blue vinyl base and there's not much to be distracted by. Some work with contour more. Zen for example flows like no others I've seen; there are a lot that haven't been posted. Some are flashy and maybe fight the sculpt intentionally. The artist seems to just paint what he feels like on a specific day. There's even one called Monday and it looks pissed off and surly.

Here I was thinking about 50,000 Yen for the group, so I wasn't terribly far off. Time to shoot out some e-mails and hope for the slightest bit of luck

 Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database
Anybody know more details on the luckybag/superfest versions? I'm really wondering if its just those 4 full size pieces, or if there'll be any minis.. And how many they're limited to?

 Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database
I've been thinking,a "6 or ''7 in Dorol would really be nice..SK could put one out every other month or so..less shelf space to worry about, and I think one this size would fit into alot of peoples collection..Just my two cents worth..
