Re: Holiday spirit in Gingerbread form
This is great Paul. And a nice companion to your piece from last year. I love the idea of the Gingerbread beast. What a wonderful fight that would be to get into.

Whoa - both of those are frightfully delicious. I've been thinking about doing a gingerbread house with the kids for Halloween -- those are great inspiration! Thanks for sharing the pics.

What a groovy idea. My niece's traditional houses are getting lame and I needed an idea for next year!

Re: Holiday spirit in Gingerbread form
After taking last year off from doing it I decided to take a break from everything else and make this one. It took me two days. I made the dough a week in advance from a recipe in a book I won in a Food Network contest for the first one I made. This year I'm taking notes, there's so much more you can before baking and assembly to really give more texture and color without risking a whole day's worth of work in one drop. Nothing like something so damn stressful, that's only temporary. The "Rick roll" (Sour rip rolls!) roof.
