Questions for the Painters- Silver V-color issues.
Do anyone here using V-color have issues with the Silver not spraying consistently? I can't seem to get a nice smooth flow, if I'm trying for a nice light spray, or a tight line for instance, it just stops spraying until I mash down on the trigger of the airbrush. Its really frustrating. I've thoroughly cleaned my airbrush, I figured maybe it was clogged, but I still get the same issue. I imagine it has to do with the silver flakes in the paint clogging up the path in the airbrush, because I don't get this with any of the other colors, and if I mix a color color with silver to make a metallic color, the spray is perfect. The current mix is about 60% thinner, 40% paint, andI've tried increasing the amount of thinner to the mix it just becomes too thin to work with at that point. My next idea would be to add some clear V-color to the silver, essentially dilluting the mix like mixing for a metallic color, but with clear to keep it silver. Unfortunately I've got no clear v-color at the moment. Anyone else have this issue? ANy solutions?
thanks,
phil

I don't have trouble with the silver. I do find it needs a good stir, and to be thinned more. Are you using retarder as well? I use thinner and retarder and don't run into issues. If you mix it with clear paint you will get less coverage and it will be more of a sheen then a silver coat.
