Bullmark Giant-Size Twin Tail. Price? Zero dollars. My best score of 2008 (or any other year, actually).

Many thankies to the_z, for making one of my major toy wishes come true! I'd been looking for the Cocoon Kanegon for 2 years! Thanks for putting a big smile on my face and in my heart, I really love this toy (ergh! I am so sorry Zac! I put akum6n earlier ) Sorry for the delay in posting a pic, I finally got my camera fixed! and, nice Christmas gifts from Hubby!

Re: your best loot for 2008
I picked up a couple vintage Popy robot vinyls this year--nothing too crazy. Oh...one of them was a Getter 3 missile-firing vinyl. Anyone got an angle on a Getter 1 (preferably MIB)??? Anyway, here's my big vintage score of 2008: Popy DX Queen Cosmos: Looks pretty damn minty-fresh, but I don't have it in hand from my agent yet. Soon...

I played with this for many hours and loved it...although not as much as the bigger StarZinger and StarCupper with microman style figure. It was still pretty awesome....yet it makes me sad to think that a lot of the toys I had are now vintage cause it lets me know how old I am. It is great to see some of these survive a childs hands. Sanjeev, this one looks like it is in great condition.

Damn, Sanjeev...the DX. I lust after that. I take it that wasn't a YJA buy?

Re: your best loot for 2008
Ah, gatchabert, that's awesome that you actually had one growing up. I never did, but I always dreamed of having one. Those of us in New England were treated to Spaceketeers, and while this show didn't feature a giant robot defending the Earth against alien invaders, the characters were still pretty badass and the little ships rocked. I would always try to recreate the individual dudes' ships in Lego...and was pretty damn successful, if ya ask me! Maybe someday, I'll track down the VA ships. I'm assuming those are the ones you had: big and plastic...and the figures were painted? There are also the Popinica diecast ones, which are smaller and have unpainted figures. Not sure which one's I'd prefer... And maybe if I get real saucy, I may try to track down the chogokin figures of the pilots. Jogo and Hakka aren't hard to find, but Coogo is damn rare and gets very pricey... Thank the gods I'm no completist! hillsy11 wrote: Damn, Sanjeev...the DX. I lust after that. I take it that wasn't a YJA buy? It actually WAS--these are the auction pics (I had to blur out the seller's name to the lower right on the box pic). I lucked out in that I was the only one who bid! Got a great deal, too...guess it just slipped under everyone's radar...

Pickleloaf, can you please tell me who made that Tiger Toy? It reminds me of the Tiger 7 rider.

That is tigermask from the show/franchise of the same name. I think Nakajima made that one. There are also minis and a giant size. btw, no problem on the kanegon, glad you're enjoying him!

I haven't seen any of these before. They are so cool, I couldn't pick a favorite. But I must say I wouldn't mind sharing my space with the Twin Tail. Thanks for sharing these pics.

Re: your best loot for 2008
JIm (vintagevinyl) asked me to repost these here. Most of you have seen these in the other thread, but here's a new one: Bullmark Hawaii Red King I have been very fortunate this year scoring several excellent pieces. I don't like to use the word "grail" but I have been after some of these, or just waiting for them to show up when I have the cash, for close to 15 years. Hope you enjoy them. Marusan Archaelon from One Million Years BC (this is not the recently sold one with all the writing on the bottom), Marusan Hyata, and Bandai giant (38cm) RainbowMan Dash 2. Completed my Nitto Yokai set. Bullmark Bello Bello (right) to go with the Gari Gari I picked up on my trip to Tokyo last year. This cool bowling set by Yamakatsu. I first saw this set in the first Hyper Hobby mag I picked up about 15 years ago. It was shown in those magical back pages that featured photo ads for Japanese toy shops. I always thought this set would totally rock, and it does. And, finally, the Masudaya talking Irutan with box and life preserver. It even has the tag on the pull string.[/quote]
