The prisoner is my #1 favorite tv series of all time....simply epic.

I've been interested in watching the Prisoner for some time now. Is this show really that good?

it's incredible....really layered story and full of symbolism. If you're into spy/conspiracy type fiction at all, you will love the prisoner...Think Bond on a never ending acid trip.
The ending of the series was very confusing yet somehow very satisfying.
The simpsons have a great parody on the series...in the episode where homer starts exposing springfields secrets via the Mr. X website.

Yes. It's dated of course but the themes are more relevant than ever, and quite a few of the episodes are excellent. The series is definitely worth having seen at least once. Some say it's all too obvious, tennis shoe "individual vs. system" intellectualism and all that, but they're wrong. It's not shallow.
