 New Bandai Ultraman kaiju toys.
I just came across this on HLJ:

Damn, these vinyls are getting nicer and nicer, and for 700 yen each you can't beat the price. I didn't know about any of these. Are more of the older designs like Micras and Gudon being recycled for this new show?

That does look kinda nice! I would want to see one in person, though: I am concerned that these are edging away from a kaiju feeling and towards an urban vinyl feeling if they get to "sharply" designed and painted.
Does this make sense?

Does this make sense? No. Nowadays these are being sculpted for maximum accuracy, and a lot of effort is made to match the proportions and details of the actual props perfectly. So if there's any "urban" feel, then the guy wearing the suit must be exhibiting it, too.

Good, I am glad to hear it.
[When I said, does this make sense, I was really referring to my question, but I appreciate the response.]

didn't we just have a solid round of Bandai bashing last month??? My theory is that everyone has a secret stash of Bandai figs, but no one wants to own up to having only paid $7 for a kaiju
me - I love em! (gateway drug for vinyl junkies - first ones on the house)

These are very cool and the price is very attractive.
The Garamon that came out a while back is really incredible.
(it's already sold out )
