After seeing some of the other Zudons, I think I'm kinda hooked on it and now I'm sad I missed this one...which is probably the easist one to get. Gratz to those that scored on this one. Looking forward to seeing the next colorway.

Shoot I forgot. I like what I'm seeing, but I keep forgetting release dates and crap. How much do I REALLY want them than? I really appreciate and like them, and Zudon and MG5 and Galtan, but just never get on to getting any. Some day......some day.

Crazy to see 'em lined up like that... especially with every eye looking in a different direction. Is Zudon the new Bemon ?

I guess if a Bemon and Zag mated you'd get a Zudon. It doesn't really appeal to me either but to each his own.
Aside from not liking how it looks though, I really thought it was poorly designed by having the torso split under the armpit.

what an awesome day....starts with winning the maza lottery, then tonight, I get an email telling me my place on the waiting list for zudon came to fruition.

I think the crudeness in its design adds appeal to the toy for others.

I also agree with Lorne...buy it, if you like it. Not for everyone really, probably, in that Bemon, Anraku line of appreciation.

Well, I'm in the category of appreciating crudeness ie: Hukkokudo Hedos, Dempagons, and Bemons among others,
AND I love one eyed creatures. However the design of this character/figure just doesn't appeal to me for at least one of the reasons I already mentioned, that's all, my opinion. A "buy it if you like it" comment sounds more like a defensive statement as opposed to discussing it. I wasn't trying to derail the positive excitement towards the Zudon simply making an observation.

I don't really consider the Anraku figures as having the same type of crudeness but some of his figures like the Glutamin and to an extent the Goga have the same sense of goofyness in their character design as the Zudon.
Maybe I need to get one of these in my hands...so many times I buy a figure I'm psyched about solely from photos,
but when in hand I'm disappointed. The opposite may hold true for the Zudon.

onibaba, I also had the same opinion of the Zudon at first. I thought it looked like a giant one eyed turd, a bumpy mr potatohead (that had been throw in the fire). The moving eye seemed very gimmicky. Then the ichi and jyraniko versions came out. I really am a sucker for paint jobs. Couldn't score those but I thought I would like to get one of these at cost and see what it's about. Got the Kingbee version and instantly fell in love with it. He's got alot of personality, much like a bemon.

It's great to have lots of detailed highly polished figures (aka M1, Shikaruna) in your collection but it's also nice to have crude looking characters in then as well. Just my opinion, I like balance.

I don't like the mid-waist cut myself either. It's the weakest part, it's what I dislike about Gargamels mini walking Hedoran, it's just an awkward place to have cut the joint. I don't feel a need to go nuts and get this guy, I'm taking that as a sign to just leave them for everyone else. I like it, but not enough I guess. I wish they'd put more mini's out too, and I generally DON'T like minis but the minis of this guy and the MG5 are awesome.

just for the record, I said "buy it if you like it" because people are trying to stir things up about how this thing may or may not be "the next bemon"...which doesn't matter in the slightest...it had nothing to do with avoiding dicussion of the Zudon's merits.

I'm always fascinated by the people who comment at length on toys they hate. I really just don't feel that need. I buy what I like and I like the Zudon (among many other sculpts). I happen to dislike the OG Bemon....go figure. But I don't go storming into every Bemon lover's thread and tell people it looks like a steaming pile of shit instead of a pinched loaf like the Zudon. Actually, no one ever does that for fear of the Bemon police bringing down the hammer. (all hail LB...seriously.)

Anyway, in regards to the Zudon itself...it's a fun toy. The eye is a really cool and an interesting new element in my collection. I didn't see it as a gimmick. The weight of the toy, the thickness of the vinyl, really adds to the quality feel. The crudeness of the sculpt adds to the silliness of the character, which is the appeal for me. The version that won me over the the Jyarinko, which I was lucky enough to have a friend get for me, and once I got it in my hands I was thrilled.

I feel that "buy it if you like it" should be the effing motto here, and not seen as a deflection. every problem that comes up regarding the toys we like happens when people stray from this, the golden rule of collecting...collecting ANYTHING.
