Intro - "Ghoul Reaper" now with 30% mo betta spellin
Started sculpting this guy a couple o years back then placed him on stasis cause #1 I didn't know any of the secret handshakes to get a Japanese factory to talk with me about producing this toy, #2 I didn't want to branch off too soon after doing my Robot and #3 I punked out seeing how non-Japanese where getting slaugthered when we do (gulp) Kaiju lol. Anyhoo, I felt sorry for the lil bugger just sittin there "almost" finished so I went ahead and,,well finished him/it. The Ghoul Reaper (back story all written up and everything) is about 5.5" tall. It's still needs tooling up to smooth and finish up the surface some more. The pix will show the reaper monster in Castelene wax. I'm toying with the Idea of producing it as a resin toy. I'll do maybe a run of 10-20 pcs, hand cast and hand paint it myself (100% DIY). So without further chitchat, I humbly present fo the first time anywhere. The "Ghoul Reaper" .

Nice! My only criticism, and it's pretty minor, is that the head looks a little too fat. I LOVE the cutaway bone look to the fins. Very nice, and I can't wait to see one painted.

It's prolly cause this is the mini version, a young reaper. When I drew up the turn arounds for this, I figured it would be easier to start with the lil fella. The only person here who's seen the drawings for the big Ghoul Reaper is Brian Flynn and maybe Kirkland. The big guys was originally designed to stand 10" tall.

Nice one Robert. The overall shape and proportions work well but just a couple of minor details. The eyes...they're too Rumble Monster-ish. You see it in the Bop-dragon and Damnedron. It might be that the proportion of the eyes are like RM's so a change in size or even having one big and one small might work better. The other thing are the feet...or hooves...maybe look at clydesdales but not as hairy, a bigger hoof perhaps so it doesn't look like the hoof is just stuck on to the leg. I'm not really sure how to describe it. Hope you make them. t looks like a lot of fun to paint

I like it a lot. The exposed marrow on the back really skeeves me out in a good way. If you make them in vinyl you can count me in for one, not a big fan of resin.

This would look so amazing in clear vinyl with some sort of innards.
Judging by his height, he would be a great contender in the fight figure category. I don't think anyone would want to fight him because he's gnarly as all hell.

I like how chunky he looks... also into the 'coral' like details on the back.

If I do it in vinyl it would have to be Chinese, it would be all hand painted by me tho. In a way I like the Idea of doing it in resin. You can't get anymore hands on than this. I designed, sculpted, tool, cast, paint, and package it, 100% DIY. As for clear with innards I'ts not hard to cast this in clear with perfectly suspended innards. I'm getting a new pressure pot and compressor I'll do a couple of test castings in clear. I'm really stoked now to get this done and maybe, maybe,, change the way folks see resin.

This bad boy will be great as a giant chunk of clear resin. DIY FTW.

I imagine the resin casting to be far more time-consuming on your end than sending it away to a Chinese factory, but probably less expensive and possibly a bit more satisfying as far as creating something goes...at any rate, it is a very promising sculpt at this stage and I'm looking forward to updates!

Osso Buco anyone? Count me in for one. nice work. As has been stated, the exposed bone marrow is just the standout feature.

Cool sculpt, Robert!
As others have said, the exposed bone looks great. It's detail offsets the smoothness of the rest of the body quite well. I have to agree with gatchabert, though: as soon as I saw this, I immediately thought Damnedron. Not only the eyes, though, but also the lumpy cascading lines on the body.
The skulls and "fingernails" are nice, too!
