Re: UnOfficial NYCC & Many Mey Show Meet-UP! there's also the time issue. you can go the cheaper route, however taking the A train does take a long time. the LIRR is nicer I'd suggest checking out the MTA homepage for any travel advisories. One time I came in from JFK only to find the train wasn't running and I had to take a bus. that sucked some royal ass, especially with a suitcase. This site doesn't give you up-to-the-minute news but you will be able to see if there are any advance closings. you can also check out subway maps here which will give you a better idea on what to take for what area.
