 Re: Quality Control
Those Zeitgeist films are lousy. They smack of the director wanting to make an artistic statement rather than actually teach the viewer something. I wonder if all of the words are just window dressing and the people swallowing this are being suckered.
(Along the same lines, I wonder if kroker is pulling a fast one on us by tweaking our noses.)
That Zeitgeist director should watch Tribulation 99 a few times before making the next one. That was entertaining.

 Re: Quality Control
zeitgeist = anti propaganda....if you fall for the poorly thought out rhetoric in films like that, it's no better than falling for the poorly thought out rhetoric of the former bush administration. The far extremes of either end of the spectrum are reserved for nuts and gullible(self righteous) dummies.

 Re: Quality Control
yes, you are right but you can't neglect all of the information just because you don't agree with some of it. it's not a bible to live your life by but the stuff they say about Modern Money Mechanics is real. you have your bullshit filters turned up too high, you are too skeptical for your own good. I'm not a Christian but I see Christ as a good metaphor to live my life by, I'm not a Taoist but I understand the concept of the Tao and relate it to my life etc. etc..... Also watch this... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... f+the+self

Go see Wendy and Lucy to see a great film that touches on the subject amongst other things. All speculation to support your personal belief systems. Also, I didn't write that, hence the fancy quotations and....... I generally only steal out of necessity (or spite). Not just for the hell of it. Also I find it hilarious that none of you see yourself as part of any sort of herd, jocking the same toys, bands, artists, companies as each other. still a herd, just on a smaller level.

I don't think anyone denies being part of a herd. Some people just consider themselves more of a "black sheep" in that herd.

Kroker, I will admit that I am in a herd, if you will admit you are too.
But what tiny cool herds.
I don't know about being too skeptical about things. You can never ask enough questions of any idea, or be too overly rational about something. Trusting in something without questions is garbage. If that subject can't stand up to questions, it should be abandoned.

If that subject can't stand up to questions, it should be abandoned. yes. we all are in some way or another. I am obviously a member on skull brain. you're right about asking questions but I also think that just because you disagree with one element of what someone says, like zeitgeist for instance, you shouldn't use that as an excuse to disregard everything else they say. There are pieces of truth to be found all over. If you look to one person for all of your answers then you might as well stop asking questions and just go ahead and sign up with Jesus. they seem to be offering a pretty good package over there, benefits, 401K, Heaven... actually, you may find this interesting. I was just watching it earlier. an interview between alex jones and the zeitgeist guy, peter joseph. 2 people who are condsidered to be saying the same stuff but you can see where they have disagreements in the interview. doesn't automatically debunk everything that both of them have ever said... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... alex+jones

 Re: Quality Control
I'm all for new ideas, and will change my mind on a subject in the light of sufficient evidence or compelling argument. That's not the deal here.
What's getting you disregarded is the way you hi-jacked the thread. Also your tone in these posts is confrontational for no reason, others including myself have responded in kind.
If you want to discuss the nature of the world, and economics etc, you might want to start another thread.
PS I watched to Zeitgeist thing. It felt like alot of paranoia to me.

 Re: Quality Control
No, I did not "hi-jack the thread". I made a statement that I felt to be relevant to the post and many of you just couldn't handle that and for some reason felt the need to try to prove to me how stupid you think I am. You guys "hi-jacked the thread" trying to make me look stupid. all I did was attempt to defend my comments and I apologize if you think I have a tone but that is only after having many uninformed cheap shots thrown at me and I realized that I was talking to a fairly unintelligent, proud & hostile audience...

If you don't tend to question or think for yourself, maybe, but if you're the "black sheep" you're probably questioning things anyways including why you're in the herd you're in. My take is that it's not possible to function in society if you question everything. That's why you question the important things. You choose your battles. I'd much rather be "manipulated" into buying that Quarter Pounder from McD's than have my choice for leader of the country to be "manipulated". I'd much rather question why my government is involved militarily in another country than question why I should be stopping at this stop sign. Now, if you want to try and live outside of societal constraints, then yeah, you'll probably question everything.

 Re: Quality Control
im a bit late to this thread, but i've watched the zeitgeist film, and while ill concede that there were a few interesting points, i dont think it has much integrity. it seemed to make a lot of connections without considering enough information.
and hasnt it been abundantly established that stealing is not okay? whether it be from a corporation or an individual, things that dont belong to somebody....sort of.....dont belong to them. i wonder if advocates of shoplifting would be cool with somebody taking all their money and possesions. my guess is no.

What does it all matter, the illuminati run this world anyway right. all our governments and corporations are just curtains hiding the true world order.

I was just giving you examples to take and do what you want with. it's not my fault that majority of you who watch it either: don't want to spend your precious 2 hours that way, disagree largely with elements of the examples and totally shut yourself off to everything else presented, don't know how to research information on your own to decipher relevant information from disinformation and need teachers, professors or other authority figures to tell you what is real, or take offense to what I say because it threatens your current way of life. also, someone mentioned something about how they would rather be manipulated into buying a cheeseburger over being manipulated into voting for a particular presidential candidate and where you seem to have totally missed the point is that you already do live in a place where both is the case. you don't get to choose. I think joe man hit that one on the head.

 Re: Quality Control
I think the problem is that you made a statement (shoplifting is okay) which, while connected in your mind to what the topic became, is not a commonly held or socially acceptable viewpoint. When people voiced their disagreement, you countered with videos they should watch, referring to them as sheep and calling them unintelligent. Now you are also saying that they don't know how to interpret things on their own without the help of teachers, professors or other (presumably in your opinion slanted and misleading) authority figures. The irony is that, so far, your defense has mostly consisted of doing the same thing, except replace mainstream people with more subversive ones. Maybe you have sorted through various people that share these views and have discredited some, but so far it's essentially "watch this video, it's the truth."
As for me personally, I don't bother with videos like Zeitgeist, Loose Change, etc. because they are usually horribly slanted and filled with just as much manipulation and false information, if not more, then the things they criticize. If you can point me in the direction of things to read on these subjects, I am more likely to check them out.

There's truth to be found in all of blah blah blah...I just feel like I'm going in circles repeating myself here.... *Last post from me. If anyone has something to say please PM me and we can further discuss. sorry for the derailment, I still say my initial post was relevant according to my personal outlook and this has all been an attempt to make that clear but damn... I give up.
