I actually like the milky Head better then the OG, but opposite for the evil.

On the toy: I didn't see the pix, but uuuggh, I know it's kinda different, and hell I might even buy it if I had the chance since it's a different color vinyl, but I wish it didn't really happen just for the sake of moving ahead with new ideas I know Mori MUST have! That other GID (?) Mutant he canceled HAS TO BE MADE! I hope he reconsiders and just makes a new run of them to his liking vs. scraping the whole idea.

I agree with Calvin that the spectre of Rumble Monsters looms large. Important lesson in why not to re-release (or release similar versions) there...

What gets me is that this is the 2nd time we've seen a rehash of a classic release. I mean, there are at least a dozen new RxH releases every month. I understand the overhead and pressure of doing this full-time creates a need for fresh income streams. Fair enough, but for the sake of the brand, you've just got to leave the classics untouched. If the idea well is running dry, branch out like Secret Base and Gargamel have done with excellent collabs over the last year.

Just saying this as a concerned fan who has bought a huge number of RxH figures over the last 3 years.

OK Here's my ONE argument why this is different than just a "re-release" IT'S ON DIFFERENT VINYL!

Why does that matter? Would you call the clear pink Booska Mutant a re-release of the first brown Booska Mutant? No, it's on different vinyl. Same with the solid pink and orange Booska Mutants. Same paint job/theme, different vinyl. OK, OK, You can say "oh but there's some reference material to WHY there were different Booskas" but still, it's the same crap. Or the 2 early GID Mutants. Same theme, just colors are a bit different.

Anyway, I always like Mori to move ahead, but after thinking these over, they're NOT rehashes in my opinion at all. They're the same deal as the Booska crew, seeing how the same paint job works on different vinyl is, in itself, an interesting move and I don't find it unoriginal or discouraging.

On the milky vinyl, uuummmmm lots of companies do it other than just RM. Milky Hone Borgs, Anraku's Milky Venus, Milky Rebel Ink, Milky Pirate. It's really cool, I love milky vinyl. Almost more than clear......almost.

What I am only concerned with are reissuing of past official releases. I get that the difference here is on the basis of vinyl use with some a mild alteration of paint work. I know what the difference is like visually. What I don't get is what the real intention of using the OG version as a second release means to Mori. Cmon why would anyone doubt its not a tribute to the Jyrinko version... why use red/gold and on the hand, silver for MH? Why use red/gold, silver white? why not choose a different color? So it's a tribute to the OG one! Then why tribute your own work?

And it's not the issue of milky versus clear either. Put a clear Damnedron without paper guts and compare it with a milky snow Damnedron. It's very different agree? Spray them the same color scheme only the second set add masking instead but apply the colors in areas the same. What's the difference? None really. Just the vinyl. Release these at the same time and you think its the same release but 2 choices of vinyl.

I would have thought Mori to release the same versions but for thes sake of a solution to the problem at hand maybe a release of the same colors using Chaos and Bigaro to hype up the brand again???? Wouldn't that have been better? It'll definitely get us all talking again about RxH and also buy it. I know I would!

On this note, I have a difference of opinon for the blue fade duo. It originally was a gift and not a proper release. I think this is acceptable for an official release whether as clones or a twisted sister of the original. Yes I would like to own one, and if Mori decided to release only 10 and sell it at some exclusive event I would still be ok even if I can't get one in the end. It'll only make me respect and continue collecting RxH.

With that thought in mind I want 2009 to be a good year for RxH with many original colors and a sense of what RxH was back in 2505-2007...

So the vinyl being different isn't a big enough difference for you? I mean, it's your opinion, but that seems like a HUUUUUGE difference to me. But to each they're own.

I'm super against re-hashes, but this is a big enough change (not to mention the new masking on the spots on their heads) to satisfy me. It's not like the 2nd brown Booska Mutant where it was 99% the same damned thing. That was just too much to me, but if it was a Booska spray on an unused vinyl for that design it would never have been snubbed.

Mori's starting this year off strong, though. The black Evil, the GID Bigaro. Those are off the top of my head.

Mori's intention was to rehash the Jyrainko based on the use colors and placement but used a different type of vinyl. If it's an improvement to the past figure then I think its all good, but to me it's not. Part of the appeal of the OG Jyrinko versions is that having mettalics on clear vinyl makes the plasic look like glass and very three dimensional since you can see the back sprays from the front. Also how it's clear on most parts but not at the same time on painted areas. You can't on the milky white hence I am not that into it..

The booksa series is great. It's a tribute of a classic kaiju and it's various releases all look very different but based on the real Booska toy color combos. The brown 2008 Booska was a huge mistake IMO.

Spectacularly rude and disrespectful suggestion on your part Andy. You certainly don't sound like a fan.... Right now there is a mix of hand sprayed figures, and factory finished, masked figures being released. Some releases more publicized than others, and not being relased only in Japan.

I can tell you first-hand that this personal crusade of yours (in multiple threads) to point out that factory paint sprays aren't to your expectations, and suggesting that they are a detriment to the brand, aren't making you popular in Aoto.

If the Man feels like messing around with paint masks, then so be it. Jump on for the ride, or jump off. Don't buy if you don't like. I passed on lots of the painted shorts stuff. Pointing out that he can do better in your opinion, based on an older release that YOU already own, potentially influencing a new fan's purchase is completely uncool. The Jyarinco set is super rare, and most REAL fans would love to have this set in their collection, even if its an hommage to the original colorway.

What any RxH fan should know is that its creator has TONS of cool shit up his sleeve for 2009.

I agree, I am DYING for this figure, but Mori refuses to compromise quality in his releases, and won't release a figure if at least a certain sizeable run can be offered.

This figure is not GID, just white vinyl.
