Just stumbled upon this 25" Boris Karloff as Frankenstein, same Universal Monsters line as the Creature talked about earlier. Pretty cool, it's also at amoktime.

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
My tracking info still implies that maybe these haven't left HK yet....not sure though. If anybody has any updates/etc., much appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
got this email on 12-31.
Due to toy package protection problems, we have to use a much bigger outer shipping box to ensure the protection of F.F toy box being damage. We want to make sure the toy arrive safely to you rather then being damage. We have quoted FedEx & UPS cost $90USD for the big box shipment. We end up have to pay $50USD for shipping by EMS. We have shipped on December 5, 08. It should arrive shortly.
Sorry for the long shipment and thank you for your patient!
Best Regards, Chris Garageworks Industries

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
I sent an e mail out ab a week ago asking if they had received my payment and asking ab shipping, they just said soon. So that's a lot more more info than I had heard.
Edit: I just realised your talking ab the full color release, I ordered the blackout. You guys STILL didn't get these?? Damn.... Guess I got a bit of a wait ahead of me.

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
My package was shipped on the 5th of December, with EMS. After 4 weeks and no sign, I'm assuming they used some sort of surface shipping method? maybe we're waiting for a boat, it seems odd that nobody has received their fink yet. I'll give it the whole 6-8 weeks before i get really concerned though.

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
This is what I get from the tracking number they give me, the hk post tracking directs me to USPS and from there I get this.
We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece. I don't know exactly what that means. But I'm sure all the figures will get here soon enough and it will be worth the wait.
But it's situations like this and others I've read about here on the boards (and this delay doesn't seem nearly as bad) you guys know what I'm talking about- that really turn me off of pre-ordering figures before they've been produced.

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
Do post some picks when you get im in. It must be a nightmare managing all the shipping BS for a large toy like this. As for pre-order woes, one really needs allot of patience to wait things out, since these are from indie producers and not big toy companies like Hasbro or Mattel.

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
One thing off the top that I noticed from the pic. Comparing to the promo pic the actual figure seems to lack the cool shading and weathering effects. Sorta gives you that same feeling when you see an ad for a fat mouth watering cheeseburger just to get a flat flimsy sickly looking piece of patty between a dry bun. Maybe better photos will reveal more. Till then looks like I'm still on the fence on these.

As usual I am a day late and dollar short on this. Cool looking figure and BIG!!

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
maybe im glad i only got a chance at the blackout. id be pissed if i were expecting the shading and got a bright green toy. with that 200 paint mask talk i figured itd be what the picture showed.

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
the shading is better than my cell phone is capable of showing, while's it's not as vibrant as the proto, it's really not as bad as it looks in my posted image. I'll try and get some better pictures up soon.

Maybe from a proto of a toy from a big company yes but not an "art toy" from an indie artist. The bar is constantly being raised in this arena. Ashley Woods Berties and Brambles has painted protos that where an exact match with the production models that justified the high ticket price. I really like the Frankenfink (as I saw him from the promo ads) and just wished that the product look more like the ad to fully justify the $$$.00 I personally wouldn't release promo shots of any toy I'd produce that differed that much from the production model just fo the record.

Re: Frankenfink - By Johnny Ace and Garageworks
Oddly (?), I still haven't received mine. Anybody else waiting on this? I've got a tracking number from the paypal invoice, but all USPS says is: Quote: Origin Post is Preparing Shipment I'm gonna try and email garageworks direct and see what's what.
