I can't imagine how to get the smell OUT. If you dont mind disclosing what it is, some details on hte toy in question may help narrow down suggestions. If it were hard and vintage, I'd be less likely to suggest something rough and harsh compared to a newer softer release. Even then, all I can imagine doing is boxing/bagging it up with an odor absorbing material. I can't recall the brand of odor absorber we used in our garage when it flooded and had mildew

but it worked. Activated carbon also sometimes does wonders, but I'm not sure if just having it in the same enclosed space would do the trick
