I'm sure those people that have a problem with others selling toys, especially at below retail, have never taken advantage of any of these sales either. I mean that would simply be going against their collecting ethics right?

Then you have the opposite end of the spectrum and have the insane seller from china posting pretty common m1/marmit figures for ludicrous amounts of money on evilbay. Is that guy for real? Prices are so absolutely insane now for anything that I absolutely refuse to pay more than 50-60 a figure (unless its something really hard to get and even then I top out 120 and thats a rare occasion).

I mean we as collectors are starting to just look stupid if we keep paying crazy prices (yeah yeah it's all relative I know). Seriously most kaiju is just not that hard to find when you think about it. We a few odd exceptions I've found almost anything I wanted when I started out in 16 months. Were some hard to chase down? Sure. The thrill of the chase is still there. There are alot of pieces I'm still after, but I won't play into the hands of purely money driven profiteers. Outside great deals found on occasion on this board, it really is a no mans land for some of this stuff.

I seem to be always late on the scene of a toy I really love. It comes out, I miss the release, and end up playing flipper prices on ebay. When I can find something on a forum at close to retail prices, I'm delighted. If it's below retail, I confess I'm double dog delighted because I have so many pieces on my WANT list. I haven't been collecting long enough to know if I'm helping or hurting the hobby I love, so this is a good thread for me to read.
As for selling my collection, I don't have a single thing I want to part with. They are precious members of my family. I did one trade, and that worked out well. I learned a lesson about myself long ago when I made a toy myself, and gave it to a neighbor. I had to stop myself from breaking into that poor persons house to retrieve my toy! So I'm not cut out for selling them. LOL
The price drops I've noticed recently just made me think people are feeling the bad economy and sadly cutting lose with things they love to make payments etc. But from what I've read here, there is a lot more to it.
