 NYCC Friday Night
I know a bunch of folks are coming in from out of town to attend NYCC. Does everybody have plans for friday night? I talked to a few of yous about getting together. Do you guys want to plan something out? I don't mean anything fancy - just food, drinks, etc. on Friday night. Perhaps some of the locals are interested too? Any suggestion?

Sounds good to me. I'd say let's see how many people are interested and plan accordingly

I don't really know anyone on here but I'm definitely looking to do stuff on a Friday night. I will be staying in Brooklyn so anything in that area would be a plus.

 Re: NYCC Friday Night
we're getting in late on friday night, like around 10:30 or so. i doubt we would make it out because we'll have worked all day too.
if you guys are in midtown/general area, we might still meet up for drinks or something if it's mellow. no ragers or anything, but a beer might be nice.

 Re: NYCC Friday Night
Me and my girl just booked a room in Manhatten so if anyone wants to meet up I think we should be down. I guess it depends on how the day goes but I love to meet up with fellow brianers without the heat of battle looking.
Carl where are you staying, and are you traveling with Scott ?

 Re: NYCC Friday Night
we'll be in town around 11 PM on Friday when all is said and done. a late night run to katz's might happen, but not sure at this point. also found a better deal than what we had before, and the hotel is on the west side and close to the park. if anyone needs info i can send you a link and you can check to see if it's still available.
most likely we'll see some of you late morning on saturday!

 Re: NYCC Friday Night
come to Philly Friday. This is where I'll be.
Exhumed Films presents
Friday February 6th: Exhumed Films presents a Dario Argento Double Feature!
$10 - Doors at 7:30 Show at 8:00pm
CREEPERS
Dario Argento’s supernatural thriller Creepers features Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Connelly in her first starring theatrical role (one year before her appearance in Jim Henson’s Labyrinth made her semi-famous). A young girl, with an amazing ability to communicate with insects (!), is transferred to an exclusive Swiss boarding school, where her unusual capability might help solve a string of murders. Also starring genre favorite Donald Pleasance.
Dir. Dario Argento \ Italy \ 1985 \ 35mm \ 82 minutes \ Color
TWO EVIL EYES
When Italian horror master Dario Argento teamed up with famed American director George Romero (creator of Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead) to produce an anthology horror film, genre fans were thrilled with the prospect of Romero’s penchant for blood and gore combining with Argento’s surreal, flamboyant visual style. Surprisingly, the final product, Two Evil Eyes, is perhaps more subdued a film than one might expect, though it is still a fascinating project. Romero and Argento each direct a short film based (however loosely) on the works of Edgar Allen Poe: Romero deals with a different sort of “undead” with his adaptation of Poe’s “M. Valdemar,” while Argento’s update of “The Black Cat” features some unique twists on the original. Stars Harvey Keitel, Adrienne Barbeau, and E.G. Marshall.
Dir. Dario Argento, George Romero \ Italy & USA \ 1990 \ 35 mm \ 120 minutes \ Color

that sounds great Missy. I may have the local sneaker/movie house play those two sometime. We already had a Suspiria showing. Love Argento. missy wrote: come to Philly Friday. This is where I'll be.

She's talking about a print of the actual film (the spools to be played in a projector) - NOT the movie posters, bub Joel, I'm assuming you guys played the Suspiria DVD, and didn't host a screening of the print... Re: NYCC Friday Night
You are correct on that sir. I'm a little slow when it comes to film lingo. Not an actual movie house but a sneakerstore which has a large overhead projector played on DVD. cornbluth wrote: She's talking about a print of the actual film (the spools to be played in a projector) - NOT the movie posters, bub Joel, I'm assuming you guys played the Suspiria DVD, and didn't host a screening of the print...
