Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre over)
the marusan original auction really surprised me . thought that auction would not go over 15 000 let alone 34 000 . though a fantastic looking vinyl its not what i would consider one of the rare marusans .

The funny part about that auction is that I am almost certain that it was listed once before with a number of vintage Bullmark and Marusan pieces. I was the winning bid at 4000 before it was pulled 5 mins. before ending. That seller's account was suspended simultaneously. This one was sold from a new account. I looked at the photos that I saved of the first auction- they're not identical, but the item is shot on the same table with the same background. Something's fishy about that one, and it's not just the toy.

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre over)
WTF??? Can anyone tell me why this auction should have ended at 20,500 Yen? Which is the rare toy? The butt-ugly fin-back patchi/dino thing or the small Marushin steggie or both? I sure hope it's the butt-ugly thing because I really want the steggy for my collection.

It's the first version Garamon. Yeah, super rare. The auction actually ended at 3.5M Yen. 5M Yen was the unmet reserve

That's weird. Could've sworn that I saw the umbrella monster going for less a few weeks ago. I don't read Japanese yet; what's the maker on that tag, if I may ask?

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre over)
Not sure if this is rare or strange, but it would make an interesting conversation toy! Here is the auction description: Godzilla 10 was obtained in a rare American flea market years ago. 1992 Imperial TOY (Toy Imperial) since it is also ideal for interior and neon tube glows red switch on the neon tube from the mouth of the growth-Soft Vinyl Godzilla made. U.S. version of Godzilla Zokei it is quite YURUI, with the rights of genuine good Toho. I was tagged. 1992 Toho co ltd? The surface of the tag "1992 Toho co ltd" There are conventions. 40cm×45cm×15cm Vertical size of about 40cm (including pedestal) × Weft about 45cm (base only) × width of about 15cm (base only) is quite large. (ON OFF-switch) is approximately 180cm in length. Godzilla's body arms, legs and tail are movable.I only fixed to the pedestal right foot however. Thread, so there was some dirt and adorn the shelves, such as yellowing in the code, but good work without damage to the luminescent neon tube.Wonder how "legal" it was to make this toy? It looks like the manufacturer took a Godzilla toy and stuck it on a pedestal and resold the toy under it's company name

Everything but the toy looks homebrew, might be unique or at least very small numbers. Just guessin'.

I love the concept, it would be neat to have one made with a more favorable Godzilla sculpt, maybe a Bullmark giant sized repro or something.

Described as "Radio Beacon" (vintage Bullmark) The color combination is really very nice, and it is 19 cm, ending at 190 yen.

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre over)
I thought of making a bid on it, but after seeing VintageVinyl's clean and perfect collection, I got discouraged at all the scuffs on this poor Beacon . I think that VintageVinyl sets a vintage collecting standard that is going to be very hard to meet, let alone exceed!

One of these days, we will get to see Brian's collection...I think he still has to unpack most of it (like that vinyl Great Mazinger...hehehehe). There's a couple of people in the Bay Area whose collections I am dying to see. I finally got to meet Erik Sjoen and see his collection of robots so I can scratch that off my list....partially scratch off.
