There's a couple of people in the Bay Area whose collections I am dying to see. I finally got to meet Erik Sjoen and see his collection of robots so I can scratch that off my list....partially scratch off. Has anyone actually seen Brian's collection? I did a search here, but didn't see anything . I think Brian should set up an art show at S7, just to display his collection. Now that would be something! I would also dearly love to metamorphosize myself into a cute kitten or lost bird or something, so that I can sneak into VintageVinyls house and see what must truly be whoppingly mind-boggling collection!

Yes! I did see that one! There are some quite expensive vintage JP toys out there, and some serious collectors! I don't know the character, must it must be loved in the JP culture to fetch quite a sum! Also been noticing some toys sold in the tens of thousands range!

Super old pic of Brian's collection that I had saved on my PC...that I still drool over. I think this was taken before he was moving or something like that. Pic is big...like the collection. Which by now I'm sure is much larger.

That's a lot of goodness. I wonder if Brian has plans for a giant Kaiju Bin where he can pile all his toys and swim around in them. (ala Uncle Scrooge's Money Bin)

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre over)
Whoa! This Banderu auction completely blew me out of the water, ending at 80,000 JPY! At first I thought it was 8000, but no, it's 80000! I think it's a Marusan--hard to tell because the auction description states "BURUMAAKU Marchand". Please someone correct me if I'm wrong... Auction description: Do not you think people made the monster stars BANDERU Marchand. Judging from the pictures please. Depending on the color monitor, the images are about. The size is about 20cm long. Issues and equipping nurse. It is owned by the old.Does anyone know what that "ZBO" stamped at the bottom of the foot signify?

Aribunta Watched this auction climb from 21000 to 54000 yen! Interesting to look at, I love the deep blues, but his face and pincers remind me a little of earwig bugs (no disrespect intended!).

Does anyone know what that "ZBO" stamped at the bottom of the foot signify? Mr Humphreys, I don't know how helpful this is, but I have the B-Club reissue of this and the header says it is a remake of a Bullmark toy- though I know some Bullmark figures had Marusan stamps on them... No ZBO on the reissue.

Mr Humphreys, I don't know how helpful this is, but I have the B-Club reissue of this and the header says it is a remake of a Bullmark toy- though I know some Bullmark figures had Marusan stamps on them... No ZBO on the reissue. Banderu Seijin was produced successively by Marusan, Bullmark and Ark- seems to be the same mold for all 3, but I do not have them to verify. The colors are similar on the 3 versions, but with slight differences. The one in your photo looks like the Marusan version; the Bullmark is a lighter green with less metallic spray, and the Ark has black/red eyes. As for the logo, I think it actually says "TBA." I did a little digging and the TV series that featured Banderu Seijin, Captain Ultra, has this same logo in the opening credits. Captain Ultra production is credited to Toei and the show was aired on Tokyo Broadcasting System. The company name associated with the TBA logo has the characters for Toei and Tokyo in its name, but I unfortunately cannot read the entire string. So, probably it is the logo for a now-defunct Toei affiliate/subsidiary (Google of the beginning characters turns up nothing relevant) responsible for production of Captain Ultra. Maybe someone better versed in the company's history can explain this.

There was a Pushead Old Skate Art Portfolio listed on YJA recently. I was at NYCC and missed the end of it. Does anyone know how much it went for? Also, is there a way to pull up auctions that have ended (like you can on ebay)? Thanks in advance!

It's funny but there is no mention in the wiki article of Pushead's toy work. But that makes sense, because there is no mention of any this toy culture on wiki.
