Those of you who are rural can laugh, but a 20-something pound wild turkey is not part of the usual urban landscape.
They can eat a ton of bird seed and poop toy poodles.
It was 3 feet from my kitchen window. By the time I got my camera, it was moving off. It came back 15 minutes later with its equally large mate. One of them fanned out their enormous wings one half second before the shutter clicked. Bah.

The closest I want to come to Wild Turkey is in my chilled tumbler.

I thought you were talking about the pink flamingo...but that was before I read the text.

jk..seems like everybody these days calls toys and what not 'kaiju'.

Wow! A few years back a pheasant showed up in our yard. It was just chillin out eating blackberries! I had no idea that they actually lived in the area - had never seen one before. I called out to my wife to check out the "fancy chicken" in our yard! Ha! And now our neighbor up the street actually has fancy chickens (not pheasants). And they get out all the time and walk around the neighborhood.

I went probably my whole life never seeing a wild turkey, then a few years ago I saw at least 7 of them one summer...bizarre. Most of them were in suburban parks..

An' ta think they developed from dinosaurs...

We don't get many Turkeys here in urban Atlanta, but my wife and I have had a mated pair of Turkey vultures build a nest (if you can call it that) on top of an old freestanding chimney on our property for the past four years....We have named them Frida and Diego...Let me tell you a full sized Turkey Vulture swooping a few inches over your head while cutting the grass feels like you are being buzzed by a 747...real life kaiju indeed...

The flamingo looks frightened as well.

Turkey vultures are cool; very primitive looking. Good luck to have 'em nesting there! Cool names too. As long as they don't dive bomb you and the vehicles, heh. Wear a hat!
And yes, the flamingo is frightened!

It is a bit ominous to walk out to the mailbox and see a big old vulture on the peak of your house squawking at you. Yeah they seem to fight a lot, but they always come back...so Diego and Frida...Oddly enough they aren't that messy, at least no more so than the pigeons that I am constantly running off...

In addition to the vultures we also have falcons that live somewhere nearby. My wife and I have seen them while we are walking in the park that is just down the street...
