I have to thank Paulkaiju and Cometdebris for helping to answer all my newbie questions about Irisawa V-color and airbrushing... they really helped me out a lot.

It's a squishy brain, so I painted it while it was already on top of the skull portion, and masked off as much of the body as I could.
I think used a significant amount of Tamiya clear red acryilc paint thinned with isopropal alchol to thin it. Than I just kept going over the clear squishy brain until it has a nice shiny coat of deep red pain on it.
After that, I let the paint on the brain dry/set for about 90 minutes, and then slow started removing the masking tape around the body and head.
Luckily, no paint leaks, spills, fingerprints, webbing, or bad chemical realctions, and it turned out about as perfectly as I could've hoped for.

Wow. Nice job, especially for a first time piece! Did you use a brush at all on that? Was everything airbrushed?

It's pretty much all airbrushed except for the ribs... I gotta figure out how they do the ribs on these things (I'm going to experiment with a blotter and roll it over the raised areas). Other than that, there was a bit of touch up on the feet, but the rest is all airbrushed.
The body came from a WDay ghostfighter and the arms came from a SDCC ghostfighter. The head and brain came from a clear Skullbrain, and I've been able to repurpouse the rest of the clear parts to create a dyed purple Ghostfighter that I'll paint later on.
Thanks for all the compliments everyone. It was fun and I'm gonna keep on going. There's a standard of quality that I've yet to achieve.

Loco, they probably use a factory made paint mask for the ribs.

Yeah, that's what I figured... they get such nice clean lines. Sigh... I wish I had a nice steady hand for line detail work, but my hands are like super twitchy...
Fortunately, for this piece, I was able just just use a super thinned down black paint for the ribs... I painted it on with a brush and didn't have to worry about the paint looking caked on too much.

Even simpler than that... I used clear red Tamiya acrylic paint thinned down with isopropyl alcohol and just sprayed over the white bones. That's also how I got the brain to be such a nice shiney clear red.
