 anti-virus software question I am sick of McAffee bogging down my system. Any suggestions on a good alternative? (I am on a PC.) (And don't tell me to get a Mac  )

Re: anti-virus software question Was a faithful Norton user for 10 years. The software became so unwieldy (not to mention friggin expensive renewing it year after year) that I checked out free alternatives and landed on Avira. Not only is its footprint tiny, but it works better than Norton!

Re: anti-virus software question when AVG stopped detecting viruses for me, I switched to Avira and it seems to work great. It gives you some annoying pop-ups when scanning, but there's a very easy way to take care of that.
