 Re: fortune snake
I want to see him change lightbulbs with it. That python clip was crazy. I 've handled snakes like that before, baby tame and everything but I know enough not to have kids (let alone mine) monkey around with an animal that size. I've been bitten by one less than half the size of that snake and it was not fun.

As much as they developed a relationship, I'd never put it outside of the animal's survival instinct to gobble one of those children up if it wasn't well fed at some point.
Being bit by a python half the size of that is still pretty frightening. How did you encounter one?

Being bit by a python half the size of that is still pretty frightening. How did you encounter one? I use to keep snakes. I got into it back in the mid 80's, It was feeding day and there was the scent of food in the air. A 7'ft Australian Carpet Python was in it's feeding box and I was stupid enough to reach in (since it was puppy dog tame) after handling some food item for the last snake I was feeding and the python wraped his jaws around my hand. I pulled back out of reflex and the fact that i didn't want it to throw coils around my hand (it would be harder to take my hand out if it did) and ended up shredding my hand. Not too bad ,only got four stitches but i did end up having to take out eleven tiny 12mm size python teeth out of my hands. I dont keep giant species of pyhtons anymore since I have kids but I do have a pair of Australian Ramsay's Python. It's feeding night tonight btw.

 Re: fortune snake
That's funny because it was right around the mid 80's when my fascination in snakes was at its peak, pretty much tried to learn everything about pythons, boa constrictors and anacondas. Never had the chance to really handle them and I doubt I'll ever get the chance in Canada
