Sorry stupid new guy moment. What makes these so chased after? Is this pair that rare? I understand how crazy rare some dated ME's are but I saw the first one go on the bay for 3 bills a week or so ago.

I guess $286 a piece is totally worth it for these considering it was such a nice collaborative effort involving three huge players of the scene...

I think a toy or any object for that matter is only worth what someone is willing or able to pay depending how much they are drawn into it...

I guess some toys are just better than others...

Max Toy does this kind of collab all the time - recently with Ilanena, Space Troopers, etc.

Blobpus does a lot of these collabs, with Ilanena and others.

So, they're definitely going on. Just a question of who with whom.

there was another TO evil a week ago?
i completely forgot about this set that ended today. Money saved i guess.
not a bad price for the set i think. I thought it would be higher.
old RxH is depreciating as quickly as they have ascended.

I was watching these with no intention of bidding. I knew it would go too high for my means right now. Seems a little higher than I anticipated, but you never know with an auction when a few people have their sights set on one precious, rare item(s).
Hopefully they went to someone here.

By themselves, not amazing pieces (IMO), but together and with the header card and history, very nice.

Ka-ching Ka-ching.

I think they're pretty great. I threw a few bids on it, but wouldn't spend this much on them.

I think I've only seen one complete set of these before in the past few years. I think the fact that they're both together with the header makes it that much nicer of a set.

Seriously, you guys are questioning the price of a great collaboration with a (probably) low number of COMPLETE sets out there, and a two headed bemon limited to 30 is selling for $400 before fees right now and nobody blinks twice...

interesting.

we're all just retarded. there's no question about it, and it doesn't make any sense. I stopped trying to understand it anymore.

It is a nice collab though.

True.
Average person might value the set, at what?, $50?

I completely agree, I just find it interesting to observe about the nature of collecting and the figures involved.

i don't think people would value it even that high. They would probably ask if they could get it at target for $10, at least in this country :)

Hahaha, by "average" I think you mean "non-Japanese-toy-collector" and I think they'd value it at $24.99 at MOST!

I have no comment on the price, really. Someone paid what they thought it was worth, it's LONG sold out, it's a colab by 3 popular companies in this hobby and the set is amazing looking. I'm not shocked.

Anyone think it would've hit higher, say, a year or so back when RxH was a bit more in demand than right now? Just fuel for conversation.

That's just not true.
These people have been called out for the idiots they are innumerable times.
In fact, so many times maybe people have just given up complaining.

Anyway, yeah ... while I guess we may not actually blink anymore,
we sure as Hell still  .

people might get called out SOMETIMES, but i'm just comparing what people find "shocking". it also depends on who you are and whether you get called out or not. not being a jerk, just being truthful.

i find a lot of issues with how much some of this stuff goes for, and who bids on it and how, but it's all personal opinions.
i got a two headed bemon last week. and it was a trade. and i'm happy as a clam that i get to go home tonight and oogle over it and know that i didn't spend $600 on it.

I'll fess up, it was me! I missed that complete set on YJA early last year that went for $600- and have been chasing down this set ever since. The set was here and there but incomplete in the past few months. So when it popped back up again the chase was on! It was complete, I had a sale to raise funds, I put in a ridiculous max bit of $600-! I honestly thought it wouldn't go passed $400- in these times which is still outrageous! We are all crazy here spending $$$$ on painted vinyl  got to love it  ! But really, what direction is Vinyl collecting going? I've only really got into it about a yr and half ago so I really can't tell but this slump is killing it! I've went from completest to I really have to want that to pull the trigger on that figure(s)! So thoughts anyone? I really don't see things getting better anytime soon as a whole!

What are there, like 12 or so of these evils? DId anyone try and score this set when it initially came out? I know I did, it was impossible then outside of Japan, and I failed (well, I got the Blob and header later, and the TO Mutant Head (about 6 of these released apparently according to Flynn)) - so I dunno, this is a piece of RxH/Blob history - and compared to many "flavor of teh month" sales, I think this is not outside the bounds of reality. After all, when will another of these sets come up?

PS. With sought after impossibly low run items like this, if two people really want it, all bets are off in an auction anyway.
