Re: New original sculpt - Splug
The sculpting looks nice and uniform - very consistent! It should be an easy piece to cast too!

Re: New original sculpt - Splug
Very, very nice. Love the texture and the overall smoothness of the sculpt. Are those closed eyes on the top? And maybe areas on the front for doll eyes to be inserted at some point?

Re: New original sculpt - Splug
Thanks guys. Yeah, for some reason I was expecting this to be a nice easy sculpt. Wrong, I had to resculpt one side 3 times until I felt it was really consistant with the other.
The character is blind, so it has no eyes. I hadn't even thought about doll eyes, but that might be kind of cool, or googly eyes. I'll have to look into it.

Definately interested to see this casted somehow... The quality of resin 'homemade' sculpts is on the rise on the board!

Grapefruit Goblin wrote: jcrazy wrote: cool, any news on "The Executioner" ? YeaH! we wanna see im. Thanks guys. Believe me, I want to see him too. He's been a little more difficult , I've been working with another skull brainer and we've had some trials trying to figure out how to do the articulation and make the molds work. and both of us are busy with our day jobs, but it should be soon. I've got a lot of ideas for paints for the executioner, and a few colabs worked out that I think are going to be really good. and once the splug is good, I'm going back to focus on a second head sculpt for the Executioner, I'm not going to give any details now but I think it's going to turn out killer.

Re: New original sculpt - Splug
Now that we have a resin sub forum, I should give a reason to move this thread. I also want to thank Monstre Hero for casting the resin. I couldn't be happier with the result.

Reminds me of the stanky river spirit from Spirited Away.

 Re: Splug resin update.
Looks good. You should try a hollow cast. Then you can paint the inside. Keep it up!

 Re: Splug resins
It is with great pleasure that I present the first Splurrt figures. This small batch of 4 (well, I'll be keeping 1) is cast in a transparentish orange resin topped with red spray, yellow splatter and a gloss clear coat.

I love the expression of the mouth. He looks concerned about being so gooey.

 Re: Splug resins
Thanks for the kind words everyone, I've got a few more pics, Did some white Splugs, for some reason the idea of Black Metal Splugs popped into my mind. I've never been the biggest Metal Head, but have always found the imagery to be very interesting. There are only 2 of these Metal Splugs, hope you guys like them.
