Not a fan of Touma's work at all, but that Wolf is very nice work. He has some other charcters coming out I believe that are also looking nice.

I think the hedorah connection might be reading a bit too much into this figure, but I also think the whole kaiju for grown ups line is uninspired and very "western". None of the pieces really capture much of the real Japanese Kaiju spark and their genuine oddness. It seems it's one style wanting to look like another and not really succeeding.

I know Touma is Japanese, but he seems to work in a western style. And I know many of you crazy kids like the Ika, this is just what I'm seeing.

I have to agree
its basically "kaiju" for KR kids,
which translates into forcing a trendy style into your own work to make cash
imo

that said.. i still love all my knuckle bears
lol

Some interesting comments here, and despite being a fan of Touma, I can understand where people are coming from. I do however see this as more authentic in inspiration than the Ika-whathisname figure, which for all the world reminds me of Kang and Kodos vs by-the-numbers-Kaiju...plus I've only heard very few complaints about the multi-colorways on that one, whereas everyones already down on this one before they've even been released. Not a crit, just an observation.

Totally agree on Touma as Western style as well, thats why i separate his stuff from the other Jp designers/brands I collect.

I think it's difficult to categorize Touma's work. It's a blend of modern graphic design/cartoonish elements/geometric precision/Western & Asian themes. As I've said before, his line work is phenomenal, as are his customs.

I have a purple airbrushed and laquered custom Aniballoon he did, and it is pretty damn amazing indeed.

I like it. I'll get it. It's good most people don't like it. Makes it easier for me.

Was that articulated Wolf ever released. I want one.

That's what I like about this wonderwall series, it's slightly goofy and uncomfortable, but looks great on the shelf!
