 Re: the maw
so you ate the spice, huh? MASSIVE improvement on a "box with legs" concept. A truly great example of making something out of nothing! Give the creators of lame platform toys the gom jabbar!

 Re: the maw
Seriously, is that thing even in there? Oh, by the way, I'm coming out with my own platform soon, it even comes in different colors if you prefer to leave it blank.

 Re: the maw
As a mod I think I'm supposed to tell you to "Take that platform shit back to KR"!!! Now before I get more "hate e-mails" Glenn used my mod handbook as toilet paper so it's not really my fault. But as I see no evidence of the box underneath I think we're safe and there seems to be no "bunching of panties". Carry on.
Nice one Motor! I'm hoping that that's just a baby one and it'll grow into something that'll pull my car when we all run out of oil.

 Re: the maw
So basically you used is as an armature to reduce the amount of magic sculpt needed? I can't think of what else one could do with it - what a piece of crap! (Not your sculpt, the "armature". The sculpt looks good.)

I must not fear, fear is the mindkiller.... motor, its like a millipede with fangs, but sort of turd-like too. it's bizarro for sure. nice sculpee work. is it sculpee for the fangs as well? what is that platform? a doghouse or a dog? very confusing shape to start with.

 Re: the maw
it started in my head as a mix of one of those deep sea fish with the gnarly teeth and glowing antenna ball and a pill bug
As I worked it just kind if evolved into it's final form. There's some dune in there for sure and some tremors.
The base platform is a prett interesting little concept. Its essentially an slmost deconstructed dog. There are lots of accessories that go with it, and the guy that designed it is making everything himself. So it has a cool diy aspect to it. I obviously went pretty far out with it, and some might wonder why even use the toy as a base. Well it was the original form that inspired the final creature. In my eyes that's the benefit of platform toys. They provide a good jumping off point for a design
Thanks for the kind words. I doubt it will sell at the show, but I had fun making it

 Re: the maw
Awesome, armored little bastard. Very nice work motor. Love all the teeth and the wrinkles on the "face".

Very cool. How big is that guy? Looks like it could be huge or tiny, I can't tell.

 Re: the maw
it's nice, you almost would have been better off actually using a block of wood as an armature and having this be a completely original piece of work. It does no service to your ability as an artist to actually credit the platform underneath(in this particular case). Great work.

 Re: the maw
Great work! Love the jaw, what are the teeth made of and how did you them? It looks more like a garage kit then anything close to a toy.

 Re: the maw
Nice custom (again)... seriously has the special Motorbot trademark style! Still can't get over the fact how retarded the 'original' platform toy looks.

 Re: the maw
the teeth are made of sheet styrene. once i discovered styrene about a year ago, i use it all the time. i use it for all the armor and weapons on my warrirors and for teeth in a lot of creatures. here's a similar piece i'm doing for the mindstyle/disney stitch show. i hope to have him finished this week. i'm not looking forward to painting those teeth thanks again
