Sorry, "Return of Ultraman" never made it over here commercially. The only way to see it would be the raw Japanese DVD or maybe a bootleg copy somewhere.

I'm still missing the red Allosaurus. I have an extra T-rex if anyone wants to trade.

I looked back at the pic from the mammoth auction you posted and that one appears to be a paint variant
Image
Maybe that's why it went so high?
The biggest difference, though, is that mine faces right and that one faces left  There is also a pic floating around in an old thread of one in the Cosmo Knight Alpha store and it is the same as mine.
I totally lucked on this one. It was only listed as "Marushin sofubi mammoth"

Picked this up last night. It's a rolling vinyl toy made by Yonezawa (see the wheels on the bottom). Don't know much about it, except that there is at least one more in this style.

Congratulations Akum6n! :P It's a very unique toy--had my eye on it too, for the entire week.
Just roosting on another auction just now (which I reeeeeally hope to
land  ). Seems to be a decent price, considering it's vintage and
Yonezawa. I'm curious to hear more about the toy.
...sort of a cross between a lizard and a nudibranch, with a nice layer
of tobiko on top :)

Hope you win your auction, Mr. H! Maybe I can bring this guy by S7 on a future weekend...

Congrats on the score D.
Indeed also saw it sitting around.
Would like to check it out in person sometimes.
That other Blue one you posted is pretty cool.
Really like the colors on that.

Akum6n, I would love to see the "lizardly nudibranch" toy! Thanks for posting the pic, I wonder
if there are more like them in a series?
I did win the auction, thanks for those good vibes!

I paid way too much for him. There were two up for auction last week, but I forgot
to submit a bid on the cheaper one (passed out sleeping from the flu 2 straight days!).
I got a case of jelly-knees, when I realized he was the last one (hadn't seen one go
up on JPY since I first started collecting), so I had to pounce. I'll have to bring him
along with a few other nifties I've snagged! Please let me know when's a good time to
meet up, maybe we can have another informal BASK get together (show and tell? :P )

Congrats on the score.
Would love to see that in person.
Next BASK get-together, easy.
April 18th for the ICFSB show.

Wow, congrats on finding a Baruzas! I know you were searching for one for a while, and they seem to have become somewhat rare on YJA.

Yeah, I'll be at the April 18th show. Show and tell while waiting outside the store? ;P

finaly , after waiting for over ten years and losing more auctions than i can remember
i scored what i considered my favorite standard size kaiju . first saw this on my first
trip to japan back in 98 . the store was captain colleci or something like that in
jimbocho a small walk from the sakura hotel . this was my second trip to the store
and he had just got this in . nothing else in that store mattered except for this kaiju .
i had not seen anything else on this trip that i thought equaled this toy . the store owner
told me his price and in my head it worked out to about $600 . my practical side could
not fathom paying that sum so i walked out empty handed . the next day was the science
hall toy show where the store owner was there and he had brought that kaiju . thought
maybe he might have lowered the price so i checked and now the price was $700 !
it sold right of way of course which left me a feeling that i had to know what show (if any )
this kaiju was from . years later and alot of asking and digging ,i find its from a show called triton of
the sea and that begins my quest to get everyone of the vinyls . one more to go .

Awesome score and looks to be in amazing condition. These young 'uns don't know what it really means to be after a toy for a long time. Good persistence.
