Just saw this film and its FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

Actually I thought the ending was rather bittersweet ---- Oskar has now taken the place of the "father figure" who was initially with the little girl until his rather unfortunate demise ----Oskar too will grow old ---'she' will remain 12 years old....

Do you guys know what he is coding to her in the box?

Also --- another unresolved aspect of the film is when she is dressing and she has this scar where her privates are --- what is that about????

I posted this awhile back on the old thread about this but I'll repost to the discussion here: The crotch shot is quite significant, but this storyline is left out of the movie. If you can't stand it, pm me and I'll explain. I don't want to post it here for those who don't want to accidentally read a spoiler.

I encourage any of you with "Gender questions" about Eli to read the book. It is all explained much more clearly there, as well as the relationship between Eli and Håkan. Its also a lot more gruesome/horrific than the film. I'm sure that even the light bit of gender stuff that the Swedish film touched on will be completely ignored in the American remake.
