 Standard size Green Man
Sorry there is no pic for this thread.. when I was in Osaka last month - I saw for the first time a vintage Standard size Green Man figure. (not the newer Gigabrain one). It was oh so beautiful and oh so expensive. I didn't even know this sucker existed. Does any have any more info on this or even better a pic? (It was in a shop so I couldn't take a picture.)

I think there was one on YJA awhile back? I believe it was briefly talked about here.

now I know I am getting old... found the thread - its from 2007, and I have a comment in it... viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13099&hilit=GreenManWonder what it sold for? the one in Osaka was 840,000!!!!!!!!!!! and it was loose. never really had a holy grail before, but this looks like a worthy candidate..

 Re: Standard size Green Man
He's made the rounds on JPY several times. Pricey, but not as pricey as the one you saw in Osaka. The figures I've seen up on auction were fairly worn though.

 Re: Standard size Green Man
The figure on yahoo never hit the reserve, but was bid up over 500,000¥. the 8k price tag seems way too high. I think for most rare hero stuff, there is a ceiling of 4-5k even for the rarest of items, including the astro granger and poseiden talkers, non removable mask Inazuman, standard Greenman, etc.
BTW the 5" greenman is also very nice, affordable and comes in two colors.

 Re: Standard size Green Man
That's what I was thinking! So does anyone have any info on the character of Greenman? I couldn't find very much in searches... http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics ... Gargantuashttp://www.tohokingdom.com/kaiju/tv/gaira_greenman.htmFrom these web pages, Greenman is suppose to be a gargantuan hairy human eater, and he doesn't seem to resemble the vinyl toy (when I first saw him, I found the vinyl version somewhat creepy). Can someone please clarify the character? Is he suppose to be large and hairy? Interestingly the reference cites that the Green monster version is named Gaira and is suppose to be wild and a meanie, whereas the Brown monster version is named Sanda and is docile (prolly eats too much mountain veggies and not enough flesh )

Greenman]). Here's some info on Greenman that I pulled from a forum: http://www.japanhero.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2119and the Wiki page (not very helpful): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ike!_GreenmanThere's not much out there in English on this guy.

 Re: Standard size Green Man
Our Kaiju Biologic Encyclopedia comes to the rescue (again! ). Thanks for the links Akum6n. I'm still confused by the fact that one source portrays Greenman as a hairy monster, and another probably alludes more true to the toy figure (the link you posted described a unique costume). How do you go between bad hair day and refined spooky coifed the next?

Mr. Humphreys, check out War of the Gargantuas...that's where Gaira and Sanda come from.

 Re: Standard size Green Man
Finally catching up on reading the Forums. Thanks for the link Sanjeev! A very interesting read . Sort of sad that the two brothers had to fight, and at the very end, they were engulfed in fiery volcanic flames. Very sad Sanda sounds like a sensitive soul. It would be fun to see the film available for US viewing (region 2, not for us ).

I wasn't sure if that DVD set contained the same "War of the Gargantuas", but it looks like it does Seems like it still would be fun to watch, even though Baikin says it's the "worse ever" . Perhaps it's so bad, that it'll be good
