 Marmit May offerings
New today on the Marmit site, several repaints of excellent sculpts, a cool new Space Giants kaiju, and the racoon mascot. Check it out: http://www.marmit.co.jp/

 Re: Marmit May offerings
Can anyone confirm the raccoon's name? Is it Tankui? If so, where are his giant testicles?

 Re: Marmit May offerings
That guy reminds me so much of a Dino Riders dude that I can't get any other image in my head when I look at him. (realizing fully, though, that Dino Riders were likely released far after his debut!!!)

Machine Zaurer is awesome! The head is removable and reveals a small figure at a control panel. The 4 missiles need to be glued on. Very cool that this is getting a second release.

Image I would guess the giant testicles are missing as Marmitora is probably more based off American raccoons than Tanuki since Tanuki don't have ring tails. Incidentally Tanuki are canines unlike true raccoons.

 Re: Marmit May offerings
I immediately got a Dinoriders vibe from Machine Zaurer as well. Which is not a bad thing at all. I am generally not into 'giant lizard' kaiju, but that dude is a deserving exception to that rule.
What did the first release look like?

What did the first release look like? It was a semi-translucent green body with silver weapons, if I recall. Here we go: http://www.mandarake.co.jp/information/2008/08/28/21cmp05/index.htmlI think the first release was based on his appearance in the artwork/manga, whereas this one is based on the appearance of the Takara Magnemo toy. Interestingly, Machine Saurer was recolored and re-released in the Diaclone line to be the opponent of the "Dinobots" (but never made it into Transformers).

 Re: Marmit May offerings
Wow -- Thanks! I officially really like this guy. I think I like the first version's rockets better, but overall I like the paint on the second version more. Diaclone buddy:

 Re: Marmit May offerings
The whole legend about the tanuki's is awesome, especially the tea pot!
On a side note, it's interesting how much Yokai are referenced in Mario Bros.
Anyone know where to find a proportionate size "Sake bottle" to go with this raccoon?

Marmit's Patchi-Summit stuff is nuts... Junker V joined the Illuminati and Mogron went to Hawaii! http://happy.ap.teacup.com/marmit/
