Rarely seen today because the cost of production, Chogokin (超合金) or Super Alloy is a descriptive term created by toy industry giant BANDAI which initiated a craze in Japan over die-cast metallic toys from the late 70s to the early 90s. (One reason why collectors of Transformers figures always preferred the Japanese version) In honor of its introduction 35 years ago, MEDICOM TOY will launch its very own Chogokin 200% BE@RBRICK. Standing approximately 145 mm (~5.7-inxh) in height, the special BE@RBRICK was constructed in 2 parts of front and back. Then each is screwed together to form a figure. Weighs around 400 g (or 14-oz.) The white colorway BE@RBRICK feature a BE@RBRICK “@” marking on front and Chogokin originator Bandai, on the sole of its left foot.

Limited to only 1000 units, the MEDICOM TOY Chogokin 200% BE@RBRICK is sold out at MEDICOM TOY’s own retail location in Tokyo. However, retailers with MEDICOM TOY account will still have a few left during the official release date next month.

Interesting....

The design is boring, but I love the fact that it's metal and I really like the 200% size. If I were into Be@rbricks I'd love this - especially if they made a lot of different metal 200% versions. If I had the money and they were made I'd probably even buy a 200% metal set that spelled out "Be@rbrick".

the size + metal I like. What I'd really have preferred are linking bearbricks that formed a giant bearbrick :D

Well hey, if someone ever breaks in to steal your vinyl stuff now you have something to bludgeon them with!

Didn't they just do a stainless steel Bearbrick a year or so ago, anyway?
