Post Marusan question
Does anyone know if Marusan and Amapro are somehow related?
This Amapro Octopus (left) has the same second half as this Marusan Octo. The eyes and the front legs are different, but the back legs are identical in sculpt. Sorry I don't have a better pic.

Interesting. I wonder if they shared molds, or if one or the other toy is a collaboration. I love Amapro, and would also be interested to know as well.

The spray application and siphon placement look pretty damn spot on as well. Weird.

Some of Amapro's early projects were done in collaboration with Marusan, e.g., Giant Octopus (Oodako), Kamakiras, Kumonga and King Caesar (sp?).

I like those octopi- shame they don't show up for sale more often.

I knew I had seen this back piece used elsewhere as well (disregard watermark, it was the only image I could find right now):
Amapro Skull Tako

Edit: It actually might be different, it's hard to tell. Can anyone confirm?

The Amapro Oodako is so great.

I never noticed that it was different from the Marasun, I just assumed there was some relationship between the companies. Like Marmit and Skullheadbutt.
