 Banderu Info Please
I just adopted a few Banderus by Marmit (care of JPY ). Can someone please give me some more info on these toys? Here is the first one I purchased The auction description (c/o google) reads: MAMITTO 1999. Middle-sized star who SOFUBIBANDERU rare. Unopened. *I doubt that this is rare and unopened, especially if the header card is missing, but it is a cute figure Then a few days later, I saw this set, and was fortunate to be the winning bidder The auction description for this was: MAMITTO / BINIPARA "Captain Ultra / People stars BANDERU" all three species! ! BANDERURIDA: Blue BANDERUJAIANTO: purple Green Size: about 20cm Does anyone know if the Banderu in the first pic is the only one in the series, or does it have brothers, as in the second picture? For the Banderus in the second pic, does anyone know what year these were released? Since the blue and purple versions have "special" names, shouldn't the green one have it's own name? I suppose I'll figure out the size difference once they arrive. But were these mass produced in large numbers? Thanks for any help you can offer

The first one looks like a Para-baby. I didn't know they made Para-babies of Banderu Seijin, so that's kind of neat.

 Re: Banderu Info Please
First one is definitely a Parababy. I believe it came paired with Hack the robot character from Captain Ultra. The only 2 Parababy Banderus I know of are the one pictured, and that same sculpt but in clear green vinyl. They are smaller than the 2nd set of Marmits you have pictured by almost half. The Parababies came out in '99 while the larger Marmits came out in '96. There's also bizarrely sculpted Bullmark Banderus, and then a B-Club reissue of the same sculpt. Unifive also did a version of Banderu (not sure if it's sofubi or not).

 Re: Banderu Info Please
That's interesting about the Parababies; I have never seen the clear ones. Marmit used to have all the discontinued PB sets on their site; but no longer. Here is the Banpresto Banderu and what looks like a Bullmark(?) premium.

Ah, that bigger one in your pic is the Unifive version. I'll try and snap a pic of the clear Parababies this week.

 Re: Banderu Info Please
Thank you Akum6n, Hilllsy11, and Crayla! It's nice to learn more about Banderu, I appreciate info! Thanks for posting pics of your Banderus. Hillsy11, your clear green sculpts are so beautiful! Cralya, your photo of the Bullmark sculpt is quite intriguing. I had no idea his eyes were 3D like that, very cool! I'm all curiosity about the parababy version--it's a pity it doesn't come in a set of three like the grown-up version. I'll post a pic when my next JPY box arrives. Thanks again!

 Re: Banderu Info Please
Or do they???... http://www12.ocn.ne.jp/~tenchi/kaiju/maniac09.htmlThose clear versions are really neat, hillsy! Marmit clears are under-appreciated gems. Are they sort of a greenish blue or the same water blue as other Marmit toys?

Ohhhhhh!!! How adorable! Thanks for that wonderful link Akum6n, how do you find these great references, and better yet, remember them! So the parababies DO come in a set of 3 after all! I wonder how difficult it will be to complete the set? Thanks again oh wonderous Toy Encyclopedia I must say, after adopting Barusazu, and now these Banderus, I'm really starting to enjoy Marmit toys!

 Re: Banderu Info Please
These are the 4 different styles of Banderu Parababy sets Marmit has cataloged on their site: I guess that makes at least 5 versions counting the translucent. They did a lot of Captain Ultra Parababies but sadly (for me) none in GID, at least that I have ever seen. Mr. Humphreys wrote: *I doubt that this is rare and unopened, especially if the header card is missing, but it is a cute figure Since a lot of Parababy sets share a larger bag and header and are then each individually bagged, he could be unopened in that he hasn't been removed from his personal bag, even if the header is long gone. akum6n wrote: Those clear versions are really neat, hillsy! It is a different color than the usual Marmit blue you see all the time, but I am pretty sure they do use it similarly as a reoccurring event colorway or whatever, just less often. Here is a Goji in the same translucent blueish green. http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemListingRpt.php?catID=1&subCatID=18&contentID=803 I believe I have seen others, but I don't know any off the top of my head.

 Re: Banderu Info Please
Yep, it's clear green as opposed to the blue they often use. I've seen Marmit use a few different colors in their "clears"...green, blue, yellow, and then...clear (no color).
