Post New Review of Ike's Place
since Glenn didn't feed Scott today, I took him to Ike's Place. This was my 2nd time there.

It wasn't crowded but I guess the name dropping of Alex's room mate actually helped. Say you're there because of "Kris with a K" and instead of waiting 40 minutes for your sandwich, you get it in 15. Not bad Kris...

This time I had the #1 pick by Alex and the staff which is the "Menages a Troi" Halal Chicken Breast, Real Honey, Honey Mustard, BBQ, PepperJack, Swiss, Smoked Gouda. This is something i wouldn't normally order but because it's the #1, I had to give it a try. I would say the key is the shredded chicken breast. It was awesome.

Scott was pretty happy too and I believe he's a believer now. Ike's lives up to the hype.

My wife and I went today
I got the bowser she got the vegan fat bastard
The bowser was just insanely delicious
Almost sinful
The vegan fat bastard was okay
The vegan bacon tasted like dogfood bacon treats
And yes I have tasted dog food
The vegan turkey was good though

depends but for about a year my roommate Kris and I got the "were just friends". So that speaks volumes if a Vegan and a regular sandwich are that strong. The naplolean complex is a close second. next is the Menages a Troi. I've had the backstabber a few times as well and its great but not as strong as the "were just friends". OH OH and another great one is the "going home for thanksgiving". The cranberry sauce is great, I would suggest trying it with smoked gouda.

kirkland was a savior on friday! thanks again kirkland!!!!

i was told by kris with a k to get the vegan reuben and other folks told me to get the backstabber. i couldn't decide between the two so i got both and they both delivered the goods. the reuben was fucking great and the backstabber was pretty close behind.

after my weekend i realized my initial visit wasnt ike's fault at all.. it was totally joe bunny's. saturday morning we went to weird fish to have what joe described as 'amazing' pancakes. so we went and the pancakes were fucking awful. joe would agree. so im thinking that on my next visit there the pancakes will be great, but that will have to wait til next time. when joe suggests something, know that youll have to go at least twice to get the goods.

Finally got to try Ike's today thanks to Josh.
Called in to order and was told it'd take 50 minutes.
I can't believe how crazy that is.
But when I got to the store, I can see why.
They were seriously making sandwiches nonstop.

Got the Menage a Trois and it is AMAZING!
Thanks to Alex for the suggestion.
One hella messy sandwich but the shredded chicken w/ all the sauces is the best.
Don't forget to choose Dutch crunch.

Image

Josh went w/ a Vegan Reuben.
That meat looks too fucking good to be fake.

Anyways, I think Ike's might have just topped my favorite deli in SF.
Normally go to Miller's East Coast for their hot pastrami, but now Ike's...
24 "Say Hey" Hot Pastrami, Bacon, Swiss
Hot pastrami & bacon FTW! Next time.

Check out their menu here: http://www.ilikeikesplace.com/
