I really really like this guy Red- The purple you got going on here is really nice. I can never seem to get a consistent good purple. The face is sweet too. I really like that monster, except for the hands, but the paint is really nice.

phil Thanks a lot Phil! I mixed a lot of pearl dust in this purple and painted over a gloss black base. Plus contrasting it with gold seems to make it really pop. This is definitely one of the most crazy sculpts/monsters out there...I mean starfish + vampire bat I agree though, the hands just don't seem right...he needs claws or something. Thanks Magillagorilla!

haha it's funny that everyone mentions the hands i was just thinking about how outta place they are, i would sculpt the hands to look like mickey mouse gloves. make them look REALLY ridiculous.
but seriously great work dude. you get better and better every custom i see. if i ever get an airbrush i hope i pick it up as fast as you.

I don't guess anything would be out of place on this crazy beast. I've actually been airbrushing for quite a while...painted models and more realistic figures for many years. Never had as much fun as I do painting Japanese monsters though...such freedom not being bound to realism.

I never liked Pestar, but you make him look good. Nice work.

Really nice color contrasts and smooth blends; this is the first time I've ever liked a Pestar!

 Re: Part Vampire Bat...part Starfish?
Thanks a lot! I'm actually really surprised more people don't like the M1 Pestar sculpt...it's just so bizarre. It can always be found on the cheap too (there's one for $25 shipped in the BST now!). I was always intrigued by it and all that texture on the back is really fun to paint. Whoever thought to make a monster out of a starfish and vampire bat had to be on acid or something.
I posted some screen shots from Pestar's episode on my blog too...
