I'm still confused.
If you went with the drill, it's mounted on the back (and not the front like the earlier photo) ???
In the earlier photo it was mounted on the front.

The drill is on the tail, 1 version (earlier pic) had the limbs/head spun around to make it a drill-penis. Pretty much, it seems, the options were which way you wanted the limbs/head.

Just to totally confuse the matter, mine has no drill at all.

It's just like Methyl.

For me:
Shambling, alien, other-wordly, strange.
Crude but with excellent production values.
Counter balance to all of the smooth sculpts with clean lines.

It's chunky, it's big, it's ugly but cute too, it has weird aspects that aren't generally mashed together.

With this Anraku sculpt in particular it's the odd mix of biology that appeals to me, without it feeling contrived or awkward. It's alien, but all the pieces fit. Plus the way he can mash both cute and mennacing in the same figure. It's got charm, but it's horrifying.

Also, with most Anraku, there's something there in his style that draws me back to weird bootleg toys I had as a kid that my parents would buy me at the "Supermercado" near our house or that would get passed down to me from my cousins. I've never been able to nail it, but something in them draws me back almost more than any other line of figures. All I can say is I would have FREAKED for these when I was 6.

I can go on, but I'll stop myself there.

Haven't been too into the others. But this color combo is the shit!

Yeah, I'm not too into Anraku - but I do like this sculpt quite a bit (even moreso without the drill), and to a lesser extent Drunk Boy. The others? Meh.
But the care/craftsmanship is apparent even in the photos - and I can appreciate that.

This is very nice. One of these days I hope to get the "surprise in the mail" from Mr. Anraku. Until then, thanks for sharing your photos!

Hmmmmm....so I guess the tail is cut off and a Cobalt arm is put in it's place.

Wow, Anraku just really produces some of the most incredible toys I've ever seen. I've never actually handled one in person, mainly because I don't have access to these toys, and because its really a road I can't afford to go down anyway. But I can only imagine the quality easily equals the creativity. I love toys, but I also love monsters. And these are in every sense monsters. The features and details would just inspire all kinds of ideas. Awesome toys, especially this one.

I can't tell whether the tail was cut off or whether a new mold was made for the torso with a new tail hole - it kind of looks like the latter, but I don't have my other PH's here to examine them. I think you are right about the arm though.
